The 16xx 40 ft hybrids are a little better because they feature the electric doors from the artic hybrids, and also the seating arrangement at the rear where the backwards seats are rotated so they face the aisle - very good design as this discourages anyone from stepping their foot to the opposite seats, which happens pretty often. The new 8620-8964 TTC LFS also features this same arrangement.

Who knows! I don’t think Nova Bus is ready to drop the 4th generation just yet. It is a very well integrated design, seemingly modular. I guess we’ll see in the coming years!

VexentoGD We could be stucked with the 4th gen for about 10 years. Look previously: 1st gen lasted 3-4 years, 2nd gen lasted 9-10 years, 3rd gen 3-4 years and 4th gen is to be seen... Do you see a pattern? 1st gen was short, 2nd gen was long and 3rd gen was again short. The 1st and 3rd gen were actually big changes, while the 2nd and the 4th were like perfecting the previous design. In the 5th gen., we might see something big, as I think it will be a major refresh of the LFS. Although, this is not confirmed, this is my thinking... Its no actual leaks on anything.

That's exactly what I've been thinking since the 4th generation came to market. It's a very strong design, a "perfecting of the 3rd generation" indeed, which had some glaring flaws related to cooling.

theNOVABUSfan Also, another reason that a 5th gen will not be coming in like the next couple years, will be the other propulsion modes. I am pretty sure, that NovaBus will also do a trackless trolley version, as the STM mentioned in their 2020 plan to have trackless trolleys, and I doubt, that they will buy from another manufacturer. Also, NovaBus is also pouring lots of money into research and design for the LFSe and maybe a Trackless-trolley. I think that NovaBus is most-probably more concentrated on alternative-propulsion modes then a 5th gen NovaBus.
