Isn’t it awesome how Leth is so including? There were so many times he could just carry and spike it down easily, but he makes sure that his teammate touches it. And make sure that they receive good compliments.

This is CRAZY good! I love Spikeball IRL, and to see it manufactured in RL is quite incredible! Epic should already implement several ideas that Leth and fellow RL community has already brought together and built.

just increase the size of the net. would also help with hitting the rim all the time :D

You end up getting double bounces all the time unless you make the net more bouncy then the field needs to be bigger and the scale of the map gets out of control.

In actual Spikeball, if the ball hits close to the rim (but doesn't hit the rim) and it changes the regular trajectory of the ball, it's not legal. It's called a "pocket," I think. I'm pretty positive that's why a point is given when the ball is close to the rim here. It shouldn't matter in Rocket League, but I think that's why it was built into the game here.

what about making the rim a chamfer / sloping to pop up the ball? the idea is to give more of a gradual line between net and rim, might make it more lenient on the spikes! also, could you make the cars level with the surface of the net, and make a second floor below? when playing normal spikeball you're looking down at the net

This is a pretty similar concept as "futmesa", something as soccer of table, fun to see it in rocket league tho, really nice game mode

Love the concept, get that rim OUTTA there though, maybe ramp up to the bounce pad instead of walls to introduce more chaos, add a circle on the ceiling or a transparent cylinder around the area where the bounce pad is at. I'd watch a tournament.

This is really cool The rim rule is incredibly frustrating in real spikeball too. But it only exists because the rim causes totally unpredictable bounces. I don't think the rim rule needs to exist in the rocket league version since the "net" is completely static.

Would like to see the rim not score off the serve, only after the first touch to the net. Might might some good rallies happen. Either way, this is a really cool gamemode and would LOVE to see it in game (as if).

May be easier if you make a heat seeker toggle type of function: Player hits the ball > heat seeker enabled until it hits the center bounce pad > heat seeker disabled after bouncing off the center pad. Then repeat obviously. Just a thought idk how hard that may be to implement

Maybe to decrease the difficulty, you could add a heatseeker element? Every time someone hits the ball, it curves towards the net for a bounce, then removes the heatseeking until the next player touches it?

You could play this uber aggressively if you could read the ball right. Just wait until they’re about to hit the net and then predict their shot so you can pre-jump it right back onto the net, which would most likely cause an awkward position for the other team if done right.

If the rim had collision with no points off serve, then became a goal after the first touch to the net it would increase chances of getting a good rally going, but an excellent game mode and DEFINITELY would be nice to see in-game, though that probably won't happen :(

maybe the points should accumulate with touches of the bounce in the middle, so that when a goal happens you get points the amount of times the ball bounced in the middle up to that point

To make this map better, I would Make the ring significantly larger. Take off the rim penalty Make serving easier with a floating ball towards the server As much as spike ball in the game is correct on relative size, the implementation in RL doesn’t translate in the same way, and I think the rim penalty took away from a good volley

I think this would be way better if the rim mechanic didn't exist, maybe have a slightly dome shaped net with no rim to have more unpredictable bounces, like nothing too extreme like a half of a ball, more like the top 4cm of some bald dudes head worth of curvature.
