Ekko and Jinx's bridge fight encapsulates the show's action scenes in a nutshell. First they get you hyped, then they hit you with a reality check and make you sad again.

Fun fact, in the game Ekko has a voice line when taunting Jinx saying that he had a crush on her, until she started talking to the gun.

When Jinx crosses the bridge after the Firelight exploded, she is humming the song she was singing in the first scene in the first episode. The parallels between the Enforcer shooting the rebels in the first scene and Jinx shooting the Enforcers is absolutly beautiful. She became the same monster, she was afraid when she was younger. This is peak writing

The most twisted thing about Silco's speech to Jinx in this episode: He genuinely believes it, probably every word. He's not manipulating her, in his eye(s) he's trying to stop her from being manipulated by topside

Vi be like, "I can fix her."

Silco said it right when he let the air out…. “You don’t recognize it, have you forgotten where you come from?” He demonstrated he’s still bout them streets and can handle the air cuz he’s still down in it while they all distanced themselves from it. I’m surprised how many reactors this doesn’t click for

the moment right before viktor says "there is always a choice" he hesitates... he's dying and jace and he are the only knows who really know how to weaponize hextech etc. you can see he's considering not cutting the wire because he could end all that right there but he CHOOSES to disarm it. even more than that is his entire story of making specific choices that lead him down the path he walks. viktor is wildly interesting and I can't wait to see how he progresses

Fun factn in the game Ekko mentions having had a crush on Jinx when they were children :) (also given how sure Ekko is that Jinx is too far gone, and that she calls him "the boy saviour" I believe he tried rescuing Powder from Silco at some point during the timeskip only to be met with Jinx, but thats just my headcanon)

i dont remember where i saw this but what makes Arcane's animation so pleasing to look at are the little micro expressions on the characters faces like the tiny little shifts in the eyes and slight mouth movements. it very subtle but it lends so much to making this animation feel so real

The last act is basically a whole "Prepare to cry" session

The crazy thing is that the gas that so terribly effects the Barons is literally just the air from down in the Lanes. Its the shit that the regular people from the Undercity have to breathe all the time. The Barons have moved themselves to these high-rises and had ventilation and plants to keep themselves breathing fresh air. While Silco for all his faults, stays in the depths of the Undercity where all the poorer people live and breathe that shitty air. Like he said, the chem barons had forgotten what it was like to struggle, while Silco ensures that he has a constant reminder, and thus was unbothered.

One interesting detail I noticed after watching the show so many times was the significance of Caitlyn’s gun in the last section of the series. Not only did she save Vi by giving up the gun for medicine, but by doing so she saved her life as well. After watching the bridge scene a few times, I was confused on how Jinx was able to create such an efficient and accurate weapon. She Made micro bombs that were deadly and extremely accurate. But how did she get them to focus on a specific target? I went through a ton of theories in my head but none made sense. And then it hit me. The first real close up we get of the bugs landing was when one of them landed on Marcus’s GUN. They targeted fire arms. At least that’s what it looked like to me. So Caitlyn’s action to give up her gun unintentionally saved her life. There is so much symbolism in this show I swear.

If you rewatch the scene where jinx shoots at vi & cait you will notice how they both react in different ways, cait trying to hug vi and shield her, vi pushing her away so she doesn't get shot.

Arcane will appear at Annecy Festival 2024 (June 11 - 15) and may have a trailer for season 2.

Editor being a big fan and being excited for individual scenes while not spoiling things or ruining the reaction makes it so much better. You have someone in the same camp as the audience who have already seem the show in it's entirety and are reacting to the reactors.

I just now noticed Ekko's face paint is literally an hourglass ⌛

I like that when releasing caitlyn, he tells her...Vi said I can trust you. You get a pass back topside. Vi trusting Caitlyn enough to put her name on her to nearly family like Ekko is a big deal. Vi has no trust of topside, hates enforcers and yet in A few days she trusts Caitlyn. She's seen that Caitlyn has a good heart too.

Before the events of ep 3, Silco could inject that Shimmer shit in his eye on his own. And now he struggled to do it on his own. Shows how used he is to Jinx doing it for him.

The firelights Vi sees in the tunnel are actual insects. The ones Jinx uses are automatons that she enhanced with explosives. You see a normal pre-Jinx enhancement one in episode 4 during the Progress Day festival. Also, it’s hinted that Powder and Echo had a thing for each other when they were little. So, more sadness.

This is, unequivocally, my favorite episode, and Ekko is my favorite character. Of all of the factions in the cities, Piltover and Zaun aren't like heaven and hell, they're like lawful evil devils and chaotic evil demons constantly at each others' throats. The Firelights are the one good faction, not concerned with politics, money, or power, but rather with the safety of those who need it the most. Schnee did a great video about Ekko, which really helped to crystallize what it was about him that I loved. I do like to think that the Dynasties and Dystopia fight is a nod to his powers in-game, which involve being able to replay events over and over again until he gets an outcome that is acceptable. I feel like what we got was the best that he could do. Still, it is a heartbreaking reminder of how close these two were as children, and how... hard their paths in life have diverged. One detail that I think is really interesting is that... I think that by trading her gun for Vi's medicine, Caitlyn actually saved herself in this moment. Those mechanical firelights were drawn to the enforcers' guns, but because Caitlyn had traded her gun away, she only got the collateral damage from the one that took out Marcus. As for Marcus, though... I feel bad for his daughter, but I don't feel bad for him. He's consistently made the wrong decisions throughout the show.

Viktor procrastinating on defusing the ticking b0mb, choosing to defuse it, then saying "there's always a choice" sends chills down my spine every time. literally told Jayce that he could take the both of them and their ideas out if he wanted just to prevent Jayce straying away from why they started HexTech in the first place.

12:56 He is able to breath it for the same reason that he is such an efficient boss, he walks and works in the undercity with a hands on approach so he is used to the thick and bad air. Note that Silco is on site of the conflicts in ep 3, 6, 8. The barons on the other hand live in what is essentially a skyscraper with good "fresh air" around it (11:55) and just send orders, they didn't even "recognise" the smell.

Fun fact; "Boy Savior" is his title cause he's already a hero. He's an established big boss in the undercity fighting in Vander's name. Also Ekko had a crush on Powder, which is the reason why he couldnt bring himself to finish it.

Lil' Man is here! I really like Ekko, especially with how he's come into his own as a leader.

Silco believes what he is saying. You can make the argument it's still manipulation, but it's in the way a man who is scared of losing someone may do it, not someone who is trying to be vile. Also like everyone else you are assuming too much about Mel. I wish people would stop being momentary judgemental and actually consider more of the character or the themes of the story. At least with Mel it makes some degree of sense. Everyone forgetting Marcus' situation with his daughter and his own story themes that get him where he is always pisses me off as well.

Whoever voiced jinx needs some sort of award cos she went above and beyond.

I always appreciate the look in Jinx's eyes before she pulls the pin. She realizes despite his hatred of what she's become, he still cares. She knows he can't finish it, so it's like she's saying "here let me do it for you." One last gift to an old friend. An eerie and beautiful moment at the same time.

Absolutely love the intro. They could've done anything to explains the fireflies, tell a bit of history, show us some flashbacks, whatever. Instead we get hit immediately by their position in the current conflict and a great overview of their style. They're punks who clearly hate Pilltover, but it's also immediately clear they're against Zaun just as much.

Jinx steals the mechanical firelights along with the gemstone in episode 4. In episode 4 you see a demonstration of the mechanical firelight landing on someone's finger. You later see Jinx looking at them under a magnifying glass and has a few of them spread out on her desk. The most interesting thing about them though is how they work. They are designed to land on a certain object - one of three things as far as I can tell. Metal, something that is pointing like a finger or a gun, or something that is metal and pointing. In any case Caitlyn giving up her gun to save Vi in episode 6 is the whole reason a firelight doesn't also land on her and why she was able to survive the explosion.

22:39 Fun fact, you do not show it but if you go frame by frame both Vi and Caitlyn try to protect the other in their preferred way. Caitlyn moved first and and tried to move in front of Vi to tank the bullets (sacrificing herself) while Vi pushes them apart which she has a history of doing for example ep3 which leads to Powders breakdown.

You can see the robot bugs in progress day, they are being sold during the opening scene and later after jinx steals the gemstone when silco confronts her and she's just vibing to music and tinkering they are what she's tinkering on.

I think that at around 16:30 is an epiphany moment for Vi, as she finally seen caitlyn as something different and begins to properly like her on a deeper level. They way her expression changes as caitlyn speaks, you can see the realisation finally dawn that this one is a keeper. And i think that then informs all of her subsequent actions and choices, culminating in her once again chosing to protect caitlyn when they meet jinx, rather than going with her sister. Thats the second time vi has done it, its no wonder Jinx sees her as a demon taking her sister away from her.

Damn I just now noticed how they were expanding that memorial graffiti with the girl that looked like Vi from the 4th episode 😟

The Ekko-Jinx fight scene is one of the best fight scenes I have ever seen, so amazingly well done.

something i think it is really interesting abaout jinx is that she has the blue cloud/smoke in her body and vi sad to her that when she turns one that thing she will always find her so the fact that she has this paint in her body is like a constant cry for help because she is always lost

The Ekko vs Jinx scene seriously never disappoints, seen it like 20+ times now and I always have to just stop what I'm doing and enjoy it.

The fight scene always get me because to see it clear as day how their innocence was lost and now they're at their throats, it just hurts.

How did we survive all these years? Obsessively watching reaction videos to get our Arcane fix until the next season.

I love that the song Jinx hums while walking on the bridge is the same song she sings at the start of the very first episode. Only difference? In the first episode, she saw her parents get killed by Enforcers. Now, she's killing the Enforcers.

I like how each new episode becomes the favorite one, but it really do be like that lol. Each episode does a really great job with world building, relationships between different characters, action, emotions, lore, visuals, music, etc. and tying in new information as its presented as you watch more episodes with what's been established. Hard not to put each episode as the favorite so that's why Arcane as a series as a whole is just my favorite 😂

This show does such a great job. Viktor gets done telling Jayce there is always a choice . Then the first thing he does is goes and makes a risky and deadly choice.

In the Chem-Baron scene, notice the plants in the background. The old mine air killed them almost insantly. You see the mechanical firelights in ep4, and later on Jinx's desk.

Anybody else thinks it’s funny that Caitlyn survived not one but two huge explosions basically right to her face lol. Plot armor strong with that one

So before arcane was released one of Ekko's voicelines in League{which was a huge hint to his backstory} was "I had a crush until you started talking to the gun" if that helps you both to understand how emotionally strong this scene was when we finally got arcane. Us League players waited 6years for this series and it was worth the wait in my opinion.

The trivia in the beginning was so good! The ? pings too XD wp editor. Maybe react to other League of Legends cinematics if the world still interests you after Arcane? There's tons of lore to explore and a lot of the cinematics are of near-arcane quality. I highly recommend "Kin of the Stained Blade" about two samurai-like brothers in conflict.

I think one of the most tragic parts about this episode is that at the ending scene when Ekko is on top of Jinx, it really was Powder there and she couldn't bare to see what she has become and what she is causing the people she grew up with and loved to do, in my opinion that grenade wasn't some sort of crazy act, or to even kill/hurt Ekko, it was meant for her.

i like to imagine a world where powder and ekko got to grow up together and everything was just a little better 😭

Each arcane episode is an experience. This episode, this ending, certainly one of the most beautiful scenes I've ever seen, the animation is so beautiful, they're children, and then the real-time version of the fight... God.

While Powder's transformation into Jinx is sad, it's something we could see coming and brace ourselves for. IMO it's seeing Ekko / Little Man transform from the bright, mischievous little kid in Episodes 1 to 3 into this bitter, angry leader of the Firelights that I find totally heartbreaking to see.

Silco wasn't manipulating Jinx when she confronted him about Vi, everything he says there is what he truly thinks

26:10 actually, Jinx probably never had a proper education, so that means she also probably didn't know how to read and was just naturally so smart she understood what Jayce's journal was about just by looking at the drawings/symbols.

The end of the bridge fight shows the amount of detail they can bring out in this animation. The subtle changes in Jinx's face kills me every time...

saw someone on tiktok say "you can see Jinx struggling to attack Ekko cause he's the only one who doesn't bring back trauma" and it's stuck with me. Also at 24:44 you can see the pink smoke fade from left tor right, Ekko definitely hit it away from them.

"There is always a choice." Always love Viktor's pause in disarming the bomb, knowing that if he allows it to explode, killing the two of them it'll at the very least delay their work being used to create weaponry, ultimately deciding of course to disarm it.

if you listen right before the explosion on the bridge, you can hear the sound of a pipe hitting something. that's ekko batting the bomb away from them both.

Small detail, but I am quite sure Silco isn't injecting himself with shimmer. You see him using that device on his eye when we get introduced to him and shimmer wasn't even developed back then. The device also doesn't seem to have a reservoir of any kind. And it injects nothing when Jinx is using it all over his face. To me it seems much more likely that it is just a puncture device to relief pressure from his eye by puncturing the retina and releasing fluid that has been building up inside.

Vi and Cait always remind me of Korra and Asami with the color palets changed, Ekko reminds me of Miles from the spiderverse (don't ask why), and Grayson is literally Lin Beifong in a different font, so the fact that they just reacted to the spiderverse and are also watching to tlok at the same time as this is so funny to me😅

Jinx stole the mechanical butterflies from the Progress Day festival. You see and inventor with them briefly in that episode.

every episode is amazing, but this episode is my second favorite. the fight between Jinx and little man is one of the best ive ever seen and the overlaying of their playing in the past and them fighting now was genius. this show is all my hopes and dreams over fifty years waiting for someone to show us just how amazing animation can be if done with passion and love.

"Why does he look like Michael B. Jordan?" because Black Panther got popular so they started giving every single black guy in video games and animation the Killmonger hairstyle.

Shout out to Marcus. Wasn't liked on this panel but his case was one of damned if you damned if you don't. Life's not black and white and his character perfectly illustrated how noble intentions can cause more harm than good. It was he that saved Vi at the start after all and conducted his business like his senior (whom he respected) conducted hers, he unfortunately got the short end of the stick in having to deal with Silco.

I mean I obviously hated that Marcus shot Ekko but it’s either that or have Silco kill his daughter so for that, I can’t really blame him 💯 He’s really a gray character in my opinion because of how he made one mistake that dragged him into a inescapable darkness

It's hard to think of show that escalates quite as much as this, as in, you hit episode three and it explodes and you think 'this is peak, this show is top tier' and then it just keeps going up every episode.

I watched a really interesting analyze of Arcane and its characters like : Jinx, Vi, Silco, Heimer… are stuck in the past. Jinx is traumatized, Vi wants to go back to the old Powder, Silco with Vander, Heimer with magic… and others are looking to the future : Jayce, Mel, Singed… But Ekko is the only one who managed to think about the present and to actually impact it. Yes Jayce and Viktor changed a part of the present but not the one they really wanted to change. Plus, Viktor knows more but Jayce doesn’t really not what’s really going on. He talks about improving life but he still doesn’t really get what need to change. Ekko gives purpose, shelter, health. (Not all by himself of course but still) (Sorry I’m not English so I may do mistakes

There is a comment under the Jinx Ekko fight, that really tells it in my eyes, it says: "My favorite part about this scene is the fact that it illustrates a key truth about both their characters. Jinx’s trauma meant she never really grew up. Ekko’s trauma meant he was forced to grow up. She immediately reverted back to what she did then. He learned from it." Hope it is ok, to just copy it ;).
