@@williamhardee8863 i dont know, it doesnt fit the criteria of a power fantasy imo. Power fantasy have a clear cut formula of the main character always being more powerful than the plot. While in Rudeus's case, he does gets powerful and there are moments where characters are noting of how powerful he has become, but in actuality he has never been more powerful than the plot needed him to be. Hence why he keeps getting L whenever a major fight happens.

It literally is a power fantasy, just a power fantasy with a deep story, you are the one that’s wrong. Power fantasy doesn’t mean he’s gonna get his way or be happy 100% of the time, it just means he’s literally gaining power he could only dream of before. You’re just trying to ignore an aspect of the show because the Twitter drones complain about it and make you feel like you’re wrong for liking it, and you don’t gotta do that.

@@ShiNijuuAKL I am waiting for the end of season 2 to get through the subsequent LN volumes so this was all a shock to me. But I didn't take that Paul saw Rudy as being low in his eyes, I saw it as him saying "do anything to save her." and at the end, Paul saw his son about to die and did the right thing to save him, showing that of all things Paul values Family over his own life. it's why I said he's the biggest Chad for anime now, you don't just give your life up to save your kid and not be a legend at the end of it.

@@ainohititosu I also think so, I think they all would have died since they wouldn't have had the books that rudy brought with him as well as his theory to use fire on the Hydra's wounds in order to stop regen. He also casts magic much faster than anyone else so he was definitely a deciding factor in this entire labyrinth.

@@jdoggivjc it was stated that... spoilers below~ Hitogami said later if he didn't go they would have found a way through the labyrinth cus a merchant for some reason had a map of the labyrinth and saved Zenith with Paul alive. Though Idk if the cost for that was losing Roxy though. So what I get is... if he didnt go, he loses roxy but has his parents back. If he goes, he saves roxy and his mother but loses his father. Both are sad shit.

I havent read the wn in a long time so i could be wrong, but possible SPOILER ALERT ‼️ Its impled that everything thats bad that happens to rudeus is cause hitogami is out to destroy his life so that his child with roxy doesnt kill him (hitogami), He didnt want rudeus to meet roxy again cause their child is gonna kill him with the help of orsted, at one point in turning point 4 even killing her in the “previous” timeline ( cause previous rudeus was so shaken up by pauls death that he decided to blindy trust hitogami ) and she died while he couldnt do anything to help her ( and she was pregnant too i think )

@@Destru3k yeah he would've succeeded if not for Oldeus coming back in time to help Rudeus out. The MVP of Turning point 4, also the fact all of Rudeus's wife came to help him fighting Orsted must've been one of the reasons he gave Rudeus a way out.

He was probably burning through so much mana, also he’s to see the attack coming to foresight it. It was almost like a blind side attack from the hydra

In the novel, it was because the cut-off hydra head drop in front of Rudy, the Hydra is too big and too much things happening, so he’s foresight couldn't get in to use so Paul had to save him.

I have a theory, it was basically a lose, lose. If he left, Paul becomes the casualty. If he stayed, Roxy becomes the casualty. And according to what I’ve got spoiled on, this was the best outcome. For Roxy to live.

How could you think of looting after all that? WTF! Also yes, they sent a team back to clean up and loot. Still... WTF man.

@@fcgHenden i knew about pauls death long time ago so the pain is almost gone, watching it animated reminded me a bit of it tho :( but i was just curious about the loot because all this combat and preparation was very similar to mmos like world of warcraft for example

It didn't The eyes only show visions within what his regular eyesight can see The Hydra's body was just too big, all he saw was it trembling, the neck was outside of his field of vision, he couldn't see it coming down at him

The way I see it, used lots of mana and got blind sided by the hydra. I was under the impression he had to be looking at the target to use it. I think he just lost himself in thought for to long. The attacks happen really quick
