The MLB would be having much more success and viewership if they had more announcers like Don Orsillo and Mark Grant. Best duo in baseball, and possibly in sports. Orsillo should be announcing every World Series. He’s the GOAT. Us Padres fans were so blessed and fortunate that the Red Sox let him go.

Two things: 1) that was his older brother who was freaking out, not his dad, who unfortunately passed away a few years ago, & 2) Camarena also toiled ten years in the Minors before that moment. I'm not sure if it is better than Musgrove's no-hitter, but close.
@kevingray6091
@kevingray6091 3 жыл бұрын
It was his brother in the stands, their father had passed away 2 years ago. At one point his brother kneels in front of his seat to say something to their father. Camarena has spent the last 11 years in the minors waiting for his shot, I'd say he nailed it.
@Hikayuhuy
@Hikayuhuy 3 жыл бұрын
The guy is his brother. His father passed away in 2019 but I'm sure his father was watching from above. Camarena spent 11 years in the minor and it definitely was a fever dream like moment.
@timothywayne3813
@timothywayne3813 3 жыл бұрын
Camarena may never get another at bat in his career and he's probably fine with that. This is the second time a local kid did something memorable for the Padres this season. First it was Joe Musgrove's no-hitter making it the first time in Friar history that someone accomplished that milestone. Now it's Camarena going "Slam Diego" as a relief pitcher. With as much excitement as the Padres have generated for baseball this season it's hard to believe they're still in third place and four games out of first. What I want to see now is what the Giants, Dodgers, and Padres do at the trade deadline to survive the dog days before the playoffs.
