A rough morning of lambing.
4 am came all too quickly today... and I was greeted with some issues right off the bat.
A little upset with myself for not checking a ewe yesterday that I had a funny feeling something was going on... this morning, well, regretting that decision.
The day quickly turned around with a bit of a reprieve so I could catch up on recording lambs, and letting them out of their lambing pens.
Some pretty amazing little moments were captured, as I had time to just stand back and observe.

Part of the joy of lambing is seeing the actual birth. The decision makers at KZfaq need to back off and take care of some of the other real gross/graphic videos. We love you Sandi and want you to continue doing just what you do

This had got to be my favourite vlogmas series. Its exactly what I need during this period. Thank you Sandi. December is a hard month for me, 15 years ago I lost both my Granddads within two weeks of each other one of their funerals was on Christmas Eve too which was a particularly hard year. Then 2 years ago I was in hospital and the lady nextdoor to me on the ward died on Christmas Eve, I was allowed to come home but I'll never forget hearing her family. Christmas can be hard to enjoy when you've been around so much sadness. I like watching these 🐑 sheep they bring me joy and something to think about and disconnect. This year is my first whole year living in a different country and not having seen much of my family or friends (basically only through social media and Skype) and I am feeling lonely. Thank you Sandi I appreciate you. 🤗

Your barn, in the snow, at night, is so beautiful. What a day you had. Making decisions is always something we second guess ourselves on, especially when it goes badly. My Father told me this....’You make the right decision at the time. Just not with all the information you need. Remember ALL the right decisions you made that worked out, that is the key!” He was a farmer all his life. This was a great vlogmas vlog♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

KZfaq needs to get off their high horse with all these new rules. Your a lambing & Farming Channel so of course we should beable to see everything, there are family Channels that have had their Comments disabled and it’s annoying . There's channels like Vet Ranch that usually has to sensor a lot of stuff out too while they're working on animals cause otherwise KZfaq demonetizes the video. Which super sucks considering that channel in particular has all revenue go straight to helping fund the clinic and pay for animals receiving treatment. It's a very sensitive platform where everyone posting videos to has to basically walk on eggshells despite TV shows showing way more on a daily basis.

Today I came home from the sale barn and looked in my steer barn and I had a heifer pushing which she was not due yet. She had a stillborn calf inside of her. So I got her in the head locks and I pulled it out and it's hard to do for anybody that deals with animals. We can do everything perfect and still not in control of what happens. I always enjoy your videos and learning a lot about sheep. Have a great evening

When choosing the lamb to put on the machine, some would pick the strongest lamb instead. In dog and cat breeding it is done that way because the strongest ones can handle the shock of transition better and the weaker ones will do better on their mothers milk rather than a replacer.
