So excited to share the second house tour that I recently filmed. This time I'm taking you to the countryside of Dordogne, where Marielle has created a truly relaxing gîte and family home using brocante and flea market finds.
She also offers relaxing massages and beauty / wellness treatments. I gifted myself a short retreat here and it was heavenly!

Oh wow this place looks idyllic! How lovely to have a treatment there. The stones! Justin and I really liked the kitchen. Also, the beds outdoors, we loved that and something we’d like to replicate. ❤❤❤❤ We’ve got the green one in the brocante. May need to move it outside. Bon week-end, presque.

Un grand merci pour cette vidéo ! c'est si joliment filmé. Du pain, du beurre et du fromage ... j'en ai "l'eau à la bouche". J'ai faim maintenant !! il y a également une "escarpolette" (une balançoire avec des cordes) dans le jardin pour rêver tout en se balançant. Everything is beautiful ❤ and I'm glad you were able to enjoy a mini retreat. I am unaware that concrete cabinets are viewed as authentically French. I never saw that in old stone farm houses. Perhaps that is why the artisans didn't quite understand...unless I misunderstood what you meant.

I love all this, but I have a dumb question. Don't you worry about getting pests coming into the house with the open windows and doors? I live in the suburbs with a house that sits on 1.55 acres. We get flies and MICE! Did I mention I'm phobic about anything that flies or crawls?

Haha! Get a cat for the mice! And yes: living in the countyside means you’ll have bugs and spiders in your house. But a pest isn’t the same thing! Spiders actually clean your house as their webs catch bugs. A pest is when you get an infestation of some sort which if you just do normal cleaning shouldn’t happen? A few flies are normal. I think there is more trash out in the street in suburbs so you may get more bugs and issues than here in the country!

I think you should be able to choose subtitles in your language? I haven’t really figured out why sometimes KZfaq does offer them and sometimes they don’t… have you tried to turn them on?

C’est difficile à dire! Tout dépend de la situation, le terrain, l’état de la maison etc mais quelques recherches sur internet vous donneront toutes ces informations!

Is it better to STAIN concrete than to paint it?

It will need treatment in any case to make it water resistent. From my research I’ve understood that paint does that. If you used colored cement you need to finish the floor in a specific way to be able to leave it without a top floor.

I think that IKEA shelves do not match your farmhouse pottery collection. They are too modern, too smooth and too tacky. Sth. more rustic would fit them better. Thank you for your films!

I don’t think she has any ikea shelving? If you mean the ones in my kitchen, thatbis a temporary kitchen so we only put those in for functionality and they won’t be in our new kitchen because I fully agree!
