Kerala style crab roast is a delicious and flavourful dish that originates from the state of Kerala in India. It is made with fresh crabs that are cooked in a mixture of spices, including chilli powder, turmeric, coriander, and ginger-garlic paste, and then roasted to perfection. The resulting dish is savoury, spicy, and bursting with flavour, making it a popular choice among seafood lovers. Crab roast can be served as a main course for lunch or dinner, and is often accompanied by steamed rice or crusty bread. It is a popular dish in coastal regions. Enjoy the recipe!
🍲 SERVES: 4-5 People
🧺 INGREDIENTS
Crab (ഞണ്ട്) - 650 gm (after cleaning)
Coconut Oil (വെളിച്ചെണ്ണ) - 4 Tablespoons (60 ml)
Mustard Seeds (കടുക്) - ½ Teaspoon
Ginger (ഇഞ്ചി) - 1 Inch Piece (Crushed)
Garlic (വെളുത്തുള്ളി) - 8 Cloves (Crushed)
Green Chilli (പച്ചമുളക്) - 2 Nos (Chopped)
Curry Leaves (കറിവേപ്പില) - 3 Sprigs
Onion (സവോള) - 4 Nos (500 gm) - Sliced
Shallots (ചെറിയ ഉള്ളി) - 15 Nos (Sliced)
Salt (ഉപ്പ്) - 1½ Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder (മഞ്ഞള്‍പൊടി) - ¼ Teaspoon
Chilli Powder (മുളകുപൊടി) - 1¼ Tablespoon
Coriander Powder (മല്ലിപ്പൊടി) - 1¼ Tablespoon
Garam Masala (ഗരം മസാല) - 1 Teaspoon
Tomato (തക്കാളി) - 1 No (Chopped)
Lime / Lemon Juice (നാരങ്ങാനീര്) - 1 Teaspoon
Hot Water (ചൂടുവെള്ളം) - ½ Cup (125 ml)
Black Pepper Powder (കുരുമുളകുപൊടി) - 1 Teaspoon

ഞണ്ട് cook ചെയ്യുന്നവരുടെ ശ്രദ്ധക്ക്..ഞണ്ട് clean ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ തോടിനോട് ചേർന്ന് ഒരു സാധനം ഉണ്ട്,അതിന്റെ മുട്ട,ഏകദേശം മീന്റെ മുട്ട പോലെ തന്നെ ആണ് അത് വിരൽ വെച്ച് ഉടഞ്ഞു പോകാതെ എടുക്കണം..അതിൽ ഒരു മുള്ള് പോലെ ഒരു സാധനം ഉണ്ട്,അത് കളയണം..എന്നിട്ട് അത് ചെറുതായി കഴുകി എടുക്കണം..ഞണ്ട് കറി ഉണ്ടാക്കി അടുപ്പിൽ നിന്നും ഇറക്കുന്നതിന് മുൻപ് ഈ മുട്ട കറിയിൽ ചേർക്കണം..നല്ല രുചി ആണ് ആ കറിക്ക്..a special taste 😋

I owe you a big thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻for all the compliments I get for cooking delicious dishes. This is the channel I follow through out. I have two requests to make. One- include more vegetarian recipes, two - pls put videos on preparing curry powders like rasam powder, sambar powder, vegetable masala powder, fish masala powder etc. that we can store in the refrigerator and use. Working women will find it extremely useful. And ofcourse, storing tips as well. 🙏🏻

കായൽഞണ്ടാണ് രാജൻ. അതിനു വിലയും കൂടുതലാണ്. ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു കിലോ കായൽ ഞണ്ടിന് 1000രൂപ വിലയുണ്ട്. കടൽഞണ്ടിന് 150 രൂപ മാത്രം.
