I really respect Asmon for this. I’ve always been unsure of him because of stupid clips, but he’s got a big heart and he’s a lot smarter than I thought. Don’t blame the victim, blame the abusers. Blame the bullies online. Everyone defending them saying, “He didn’t have to get on Twitter, no one made him do that” is so sick in the head. You should NEVER want to be ugly towards someone on purpose to make them feel bad about themselves. Ever. It is the fault of the bullies with no filter and no care for human emotion. He should’ve been able to get on Twitter and not be talked down to so much. So many of you who would do such a thing are just horrible horrible sad people. There’s more to life than being a social media bully.

I agree, and its messed up because as a streamer/entertainer, your expectation to be on social media is amplified. However people will always be garbage, and the internet lets them get away with things no normal person would do face to face. We should all realize that, and have the insight to pull away of it becomes to much, especially of he was seeing a Therapist. His death is no ones "fault" but his own, and living in a twisted time, but that doesn't mean anything now, its the future that we all must be better for. My two cents anyway.
@tiffaxo
@tiffaxo 4 жыл бұрын
@@voidodin9305 In a literal sense, yeah, his death was HIS fault. But realistically and emotionally, no, it was not his fault. He shouldn't have to go into hiding because people can't shut their mouths. He can make the feelings go away if people are harassing him daily. We live in social media world right now. It's hard to truly get away from it.
@voidodin9305
@voidodin9305 4 жыл бұрын
@@tiffaxo thats exactly my point, its near impossible to get away from, thus we as people have to be ready for that, because it will not change no matter how much we want it to. Got to be realistic if you want to be an internet personality.

@@34ey5drift8 What?? We use the internet everyday for news and the media and keeping in contact with friends. Ofc we taks the internet seriously to some extent. In reckfuls case (a manic depressive) ofc he's going to take something somebody else said or what a large LARGE group of people said seriously. As asmon said, you read those things in your own voice and it backs up what you feel about yourself when your depressed. Im all one for not giving a fuck about what people say to you, as someone who lived around abuse and being told that they're a worthless piece of shit on a regular basis, but cmon man, have a bit of empathy instead of making your bullshit, disrespectful comments about how someone "took the internet too seriously". this is very late , but as someone who suffers from manic depression , i was made fun of because people around me couldn't understand what was going on , i became very reclusive , lost my friends , failed at college , almost lost a hand hurting myself out of pure anger at my situation which i felt i had no control over , and eventually got into a very toxic and abusive relationship and that was the last straw , tried to take my life with a pill overdose , somehow i ended up surviving and was taken to a hospital quick enough for them to try and save my life , i got very lucky. I can't imagine being on the receiving end of all the shit from thousands of people while suffering with this mental illness , may he rest in peace , i wish he had the same luck to start over.

I don't think psychedelics had anything to do with this. If I remember correctly, Reckful had said that he had done mushrooms pretty far back in his past. When he talked about it with Dr. K, Dr. K brought up the fact that psychedelics can have disassociative properties that can help people deal with trauma. I don't think anyone thinks that Reckful's depression is a side-effect of the over-use/abuse of psychedelics, I don't think he had done any for a long time.

It was so overwhelming seeing him happy on that stream, and I felt like he was going to start living life to the fullest. I'm crying a fuck-ton over him passing away 'cause I related to a lot of things that he said and went through his whole life, and it sucks to see someone so genuine, grateful and real, that wanted to help people like him having to end his suffering like this. I feel like I've been this whole day asking to myself "If someone like him couldn't make it what makes think that I will?" and I just want these thoughts to stop and I'm afraid that from now on they won't. I understand the feeling that no one truly understands you. Thats the hardest part. But i do know that even though i struggle with a similar issue, there is one person thay does understand exactly what is is im going through....me. But most importantly, the part of me that still has hope and still has a will to see tomorrow because i have the chance to make it count no matter how small. That part of me, no matter how small it is at times understands everything on a level no one else ever will. And it exists in you too. Even if at first thought upon reading this it doesnt seem that way. But its there. It is the voice of not only a person that understands, but is the best version of you, the version no one will ever be able to truly become but that guides each of us through hell amd beyond to reach a better version of ourselves. I know its damn near impossible to have any empathy or respect for yourself when you are at your worst. Thats may be the most horrible part about it all. But that little part of you exists above those judgements and thoughts you may have about yourself because that part of you isnt who you are manifested as, its the very person you have internalized and have grown to respect and admire by the very nature of who that part of you is. Look up to him. Respect him. Listen to him. And know that despite him always being just out of reach of ever truly becoming him, you can get infinitely close if you believe in him. I am not religious at all. Im am not spiritual. My philosophies and beliefs give no reason or meaning to life and do not motivate me in that way. This is purely from experience with bipolar depression my whole adult life. I hope that you see this message and i am not too late. If i could somehow instantly contact you and make sure youre okay i would. Your life matters because you are conscious and effect the world around you even on a basic level. We drastically underestimate just how impactful such small things are. And every single person on the planet has the power to make the world better off even if it never makes headlines or is too subtle or too far down the line of dominoes for anyone to ever realize it had the final impact it did. As a complete stranger to another, i love you as a fellow human being and i wish you the best. Please dont hesitate to dm me if you ever need someone to talk to or to listen. Seriously. I could care less if i dont know a single thing about you or if it seems ridiculous. Ill be around. Much love. -Chris

If you have a pet it has no real other choice than to "love" you. If it would be bought from a different person, it would love that person most likely. There is no magic or special kind of bonding to it. Furthermore, what a pet can give you is a farcry from what a real human being can offer. There arent only shit ones, you know. but if so say "nah" and stop trying, and rely on animals(!!) instead than yoou are on a way to a horrible life. Maybe its also your expectations. friends arent there to solve your bigger problems for you. that is your own responsibility. They are there to add value to your life, like having an enjoyable time, teach you something, enjoying each others personalities, and SOME sort of help if you need it. But if you are one of those persons who are not enjoyable to have around because of your shitty worldview, making a depressed face/attitude often then yeah, i would not be surprised if you are left. friends are a nice to have but friendship also has limits. personally, i`d help out anyone whom i like, be it friend or not. if that person does not get better on his own or drags me down with their constant negativve energy repeatedly however, im out. many people share my sentiment, its quite reasonable. wouldnt you think?

Depression is like a brain tumour deep in your brain, it's inoperable, it's invisible to everyone else around you, and there is no cure. Medication and therapy can help some people or to a degree but some damage and trauma runs so deep you feel completely hopeless and useless to help even yourself. I didn't know reckful at all, i've seen a few clips of himand this is incredibly sad and tragic, my heart bleeds for his loved ones and friends.

I mean there could be a cure in the future. Depression and suicidal tendencies are results of chemicals in your brain. Looking at depression like it's absolutely untouchable is a bad way to go about it. The reality of the situation is if you suffer from something like depression, you need to be aware of the atmosphere of something you expose yourself to, i.e. the internet and streaming. You literally have a better chance creating a magic pill to cure depression than you do stopping everyone on the internet from being malicious.

Online bullying and trolling could easily be resolved if social media platforms integrated a new system that makes you have to verify your identity to be allowed to comment or like on videos, streams or anywhere people can comment, it may sound harsh at first, but it would hold people responsible, we would NOT need to have our verified irl name or picture public for everyone to see, it would all be private information, but people could report bad comments and haters, if something is really bad, or it gets like 10+ reports, then someone would look over it, and if anything is harmful or anything like that, would have to report them to the law, and the law too would have to adjust to this system, but i can't think of any more effective system than that, and nobody loses, we would only show our passport or driver license or something like that, and a picture from webcam, pretty much how all finance platforms does it these days, it's nothing new, just haven't been considered for comments and chats yet, lol, but i'm damn sure this would work well. And if you don't think this should be a thing, maybe you are right, but it's not like we lose anything from it, we would only gain a more tight knitted community long term, and if you are paranoid or something like that about giving in personal identifications for this, then you should know that most if not all hotels in foreign countries SCAN your passport, every time, so do not fear the id verification that i kinda hope all social media platforms implements at some point, it would let us all start enjoying each others company again and slowly but surely make haters and trolls a thing of the past, its been a rough ride, but now we must figure out how to solve this main issue on the internet, imagine if we all just got along instead, focus on building each other up, instead of breaking each other down. How far we would get in this world.. The change we would see.. Imagine not being allowed to make a new account, ever, because you got flagged too many times and given warnings, to the point they ban your actual ID, not allowing you to ever comment bs to anyone ever again, on multiple / all social media platforms. Why are we allowing it anyway, freedom of speech? That's a really dumb reason to allow such evil behavior to run rampant in our collective community if that was the case. But seriously, get rid of the trashy people on the internet please, the dumb dumb's don't understand the severity of their actions and what it can make people do, especially people with a history of mental illness and suicidal thoughts. We must do something to restrain the haters and trolls, or they will keep coming back, more and more, a cultural change would do the trick, but lets be real that would take years for us to adapt fully to. If you don't have anything productive to say, fun uplifting mood or find common ground with those you converse with online, then don't say anything at all, get the bad people out of here!
