the weird thing is that half this story is true.....the NYC slit 0-8-8-0 Mallet #2000 in two in the 30's. its rront chassis was used to creat 2-8-0 NYC freight engine while the other half which they gave to Norfolk & Western was converted in 0-8-0 Class W6 Switcher (shunter) tank engine for the Roanoke Steamworks and it got scrapped in the 50's along with the Freight engine

HA!!! That sign that says "End SJW"! I know that it marks the end of the line, but I can't help but see a different meaning if you catch my drift.

In later episodes it's shown that the trainmaster seems to have a relationship with the ghost as that is how he got the caboose it makes me wonder if he deliberately blocked the line so Cameron would be captured maybe that's the deal he made with the ghost. Give it an engine and it return he gets access to whatever mystical powers it has.

Maybe #527 could explain what happened to the 0-8-8-0’s back half when it was split in two, but here’s my take: The NYC 0-8-8-0 was a basket case locomotive who was split in two. The front half (#527) became very useful and lived to have a good service life and was preserved, while the back half (who for all intensive purposes I’ll call “Clayton’s Chaos”) ended up as a barely useful 0-8-0 switcher engine. After the sales and its string of bad luck, the engine wound up in Gerald’s place, but was sent to the deadline quickly. Tired of everything it was going through, Clayton’s Chaos wanted to get away from it all, and learned how to control itself with no fuel or water. After it careened off the side of the mountain, it became a residual spirit with one rule: Bring it a victim, and it will let you pass Clayton’s Divide with no interference for the entire year. As for Gerald, he was a mindless, tormented ghost locomotive like the ones that attacked Cameron. Gerald remained this way for ten years before clawing a new victim for Clayton’s Chaos, and was thusly set free.

Wow. My darling (reformed!) Clinchfield 311 (remember him?) would freak if he saw this blatant abuse of ghostly powers. Especially how he forces that foul F-unit into tricking people into being his victims. Even he didn't fall THAT low that back when he was a demon! Another ghost engine (Timothy; who was Thomas the Tank Engine's little brother) did things like this to Thomas in order to try and kill him (which Thomas was able to avoid, thanks to 311) and oh my Godith, was Timothy punished by 311 for what he did! For Timothy's punishment, he was forced to relive his wreck again and again, and to feel every last bit of pain he had before, but ten times worse.
