A SATURDAY MORNING AT THE STABLES | Dressage practice gone wrong | Equestrian Vlogmas
Come and join me and see what we get up to on a saturday morning at the stables, we have 3 horses to deal with each day, we Have a go at some dressage practice with Gambler... will Lewis be ready for the local christmas dressage show?
Here I share my journey from a complete novice horse rider to now competing at horse of the year (HOYS) shows whilst being a completely self-taught equestrian.
I have failed so many times over the years but always learnt something from it, I hope that my KZfaq channel will be able to help teach you all the little bits that nobody seems to share and help progress you on your riding journey quicker than I did on mine.

I compete my 4 Welsh section D cobs regularly in both in hand and ridden showing, from local level shows, affiliated, WPCS, RIHS, to HOYS qualifiers,
Willow - 11yr old Welsh section D - Sooty palomino
Gambler - 9yr old Welsh section D - Black roan
Champ - 7yr old Welsh section D - Buckskin
Donut - 2yr old Welsh section D - Chestnut roan
I am a completely self-taught horse rider who has a big dream to compete at HOYS, why not follow my journey to see if we can make it,
I'm not perfect and I make mistakes but what we learn from it is what truly matters.

Wintertime and the mice are hungry🐭. Love the pheasant visiting for a feed, fabulous feathers 🪶. Keep up the practice Lewis you are doing well 👍 and Gambler is looking good but still a bit frisky and playful at times. Good luck with the Christmas 🎄 dressage test. Keep up the good work with Mum🎉

Karen try filling paper towel cardboard with cotton balls laced with peppermint oil mice hate the smell . Get essential peppermint oil and put it everywhere and only anything that will keep the smell . Definitely works at keeping mice out of feed bins and dark places in barns . Even if you lay old rags with oil on them at floor where bins are they will avoid that area . Good luck with the mice . All the best to you & yours love your horses and videos ❤

Well done Lewis, you're getting there! Once Gambler realises it's training, not playtime, he should start responding to your aids a lot quicker ❤ I think Gambler and Donut should go on Strictly Come Dancing with that paso double!! 😂😂

Yes Lewis finds schooling boring, so there has never been any seriousness in there riding so im not expecting amazing scores at this dressage 😂 i just want them to have some fun and build there confidence being out together ridden. Them two are absolute nutters out together, they have both got some fancy moves xx

Good job Lewis spooks that quick can be a bit unnerving shows you have good balance👍 I have those little mice but worse BIG rats you can put down in a dish dry instant mash potato it works exactly like bait but without the poison. Your little breakfast thief is cute, I have ducks, cockatoos, lorikeets and some finches pop in for a handout each morning too - ❤

Ohhhh I will definitely give that instant mash a try, Sadly being next to a river we do see some rats, it’s not been as bad for them as some years but I still don’t like them 😂 xx

Karen not sure if you’ve done a video like this, but could you do a video on how you fit in your horses, your kids/family, and your job all into a day. Always curious to see how others do it
