15 күн бұрынWe fell just short in our hopes of winning the Premier League title but Kai Havertz’s late goal ensured we ended a season to remember on a high by beating Everton.
Despite having nothing to play for, the Toffees proved to be tricky opponents and took the lead through Idrissa Gueye’s deflected free-kick, but we instantly replied when Takehiro Tomiyasu found the bottom corner.
We kept pressing for the goal that would give us any hope of the title and it came with a minute left through the German striker, but Manchester City’s 3-1 win against West Ham meant that our result was immaterial as they collected a fourth-straight league title.
They finished just two points ahead of ourselves despite us hitting record hauls for wins and goals in the competition, and amassing 89 points - just one short of the Invincibles’ record 20 years ago.

Tomiyasu is Arsenals unsung hero this year, Rice, Saka, Odegaard, Havertz and Saliba have dominated the headlines but Tomiyasu has been phenomenal and brings so much to the team.

The unsung hero defensively has been Ben White, and offensively it has been Trossard. Tomiyasu is a good choice on the occasions that he is fit.

1 win difference came from the absences of Tomiyasu and De Bruyne. If De Bruyene was fine, it was not 1 win difference. Having Tomiyasu is the minimum condition to win in the next season.

Even though this win didn't grant us Premier League title, it is very important for me. Arteta really introduced different level of standards. At the end of the season we have same goal difference as City and only 2 points less. There is nothing to be sad about, Liverpool had season with 97 points and still no title. This season was great but not perfect. 6 wins, 4 draws, 0 losses to City, Liverpool, Chelsea, United, Spurs - incredible.

It was great to see Timber and Smith-Rowe sub in. This season was truly amazing. Razor thin slim margins, getting points from Villa and Fulham, and the Gunners would be champions. Arsenal plays beautiful high workrate football, looking forward to next season and how the team will try to improve

City had to go 10 - 2 - 0 to Win (a record) 4 PL titles in a row. We did 10 - 1 - 1, but it was not good enough. Ultimately those 5 Defeats cost us the PL. Especially 10 points from 21 in December. That was a Disaster for us. (3 Wins, 1 Draw, and 3 Defeats). Those 3 Defeats are against teams we should have Beat ! (Villa, WHU and Fulham)

Who can guarantee that Arsenal won't slip next years in the game with ordinary teams ? This team is clearly suitable for the 2nd and 3rd places, but does not deserve the championship.
