This actually makes a lot of sense, from the angle that all these kids seem to treat their fairies badly, too; and Trixie Tang treats Veronica like garbage. (Of course, Trixie treats nearly everyone like garbage, but it's a bit suspicious that everyone else treats Veronica much the same way, despite her nominal status as one of the "popular" kids.)

I'm betting that thr star in Veronica's hair is really her crown in disguise so that it would throw us off the scent of her being a fairy- interesting theory, and one that makes sense based on the evidence presented.
