This is a great series! One of my favorite things on Netflix for sure, I read the books as a kid and the series very much lives up to them

This is a fantastic series, and I love how well you seem to mesh with it =) The director for this, Barry Sonnenfeld, also directed a series called Pushing Daisies (which I know nothing about but is rated well), and people say this carries over a lot of his style. Also this series is based on a series of books, which was written similarly to the narrator here, directly referencing the audience and being aware that they are reading his story. They actually got the original author on board to help with the adaptation to film, and I think it worked incredibly! The movie is also widely liked, though it's a difference in tone so it mostly comes down to people's preferences. Not at all like the disaster The Last Airbender's movie is, if you've seen that lol.

After all these years, nostalgia from ASOUE smacks me in the face like a brick 😂

Another thing about this series: the setting can be a bit confusing at times. A lot of things don’t make much sense, that’s usually on purpose. The time period is tough to figure out, laws are either unclear or just plain silly, and most of the adults have very little common sense. A lot of that is done because one point of it is to show how a lot of the world of adults is seen by children, and also because it’s pretty entertaining to yell at Mr. Poe through the screen after every episode 😂 Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who loves Count Olaf, he’s a great villain and very entertaining despite being very clearly evil, haha!
