I know it changes up the format a fair bit, but maybe for when there isn't much content left to wring from the game's natural state- there IS a Tomodachi Life save editor. It's a little rough but it works. If the Citra has the same kind of save format that extracted 3DS saves do, Poof could look into that for doing a little bit of playing with fate behind the scenes. Change peoples favourite foods, relationships, etc.
