I remember picking up this game just to "check it out", then I couldn't let go of the controller until I explored every inch of the island. This game is pure joy. Art taken to the next level.

You know if you collect enough golden feather you can lend some to the fox that you meet just before the peak to help him/her. And its really heartwarming when you meet her again at the summit afterward.

That felt like a lot of things happened for such a short period of time. It's just a nice little adventure with some detours here and there, learning new stuff, and helping people. What a pleasant experience. Definitely a hidden gem.

Kinda suspecting you'd like Sakuna (it's not short though). It launched recently and i was pleasantly surprised by how the story hooked me. Beyond that, being part farming game, it does a hell of a job conveying how important rice is to japanese culture and what goes into the process of making it.
