Divide is brilliant

When I was young I did this same thing. She was a red head with freckles and was teased and bullied simply for that. She was cute and even though I liked her I feel to peer pressure and bullied her, but I take full responsibility for my actions. One day she moved and I felt horrible about what I had done to her, she never once deserved it. I moved my self some time later. To my shock I saw her on the Bus to my new School. We were both older but I could not forget her face, and she was even more beautiful now. It took every ounce of courage I had but when we stepped of I asked if she would talk with me. I dont know if at the time she remembered me, but I told her who I was and how sorry I was for what I did to her. She smiled said thank you, and vanished from my life after that. I never saw her on the Bus again and could not find her at School, not that I had any idea what Class she was in. I just hope that maybe I could give her back a bit of self respect I may have taken from her. I dont deserve to be forgiven, but she deserved to know she deserved none of it. I never Bullied anyone again, though I had been a target plenty of times after, it was my Karma come back around. I still think of her often and just hope she is happy. Thanks to anyone who read this.

I read the Manga and have seen the Movie. Every time I watch the movie or read the manga i get teary eyes. And I have to say this song brings back some of that emotion.

This song is so much more meaningful than anything I could’ve asked for Divide. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of me simply because of these lyrics. I love this song from the bottom of my heart.

A Silent Voice taught me that it's never too late to try and live a reformed life. He didn't know he would get to meet her again, yet he still picked up Sign Language. Even if you can't make amends to the person directly, you can apologize spiritually and do better for all those you meet in the future.

I've been listening to this for the last three days, trying to find the proper words to describe how it's hitting me. I can't, dead honest I cannot get the words to express this song properly with how much I enjoy it and hate how much it seems to affect me. Just stick to saying thank you for writing what I honestly think will be a song that will forever sit on the throne of what I appreciate most about music.

Stunning piece! This interpretation of Naoko Yamada’s masterpiece underlines the main themes of the anime so beautifully that there’s no need to have actually seen the anime. (Not something I’d recommend though) In my mind the lyrics can be heard in both of the main characters voices since they (male and female) were both filled with self doubt, regrets and despair and either could have uttered Divide Music’s perfectly crafted words. Naoko Yamada’s other more recent masterpiece “Liz and the Bluebird” would be an interesting exercise to write a song around. It might be an oddball one for Divide Music to tackle due to its evenly discreet qualities but I for one would love to hear what he could do with this unconventional source material. Most anime fans find “Liz and the Bluebird” uneventful and boring but the manner in which the sound design, foly art and line drawing all interweave to tell a quiet sweet story of two close friends at the crossroads of drifting apart is breathtaking. The anime is slow, delicate and visually minimalistic and seems to be built around the sound design which is brilliantly realized. Yamada’s sound designer Kesuke Ushio (who also worked on A Silent Voice) created his soundscape based, amoung other things, on the particular cadence of the characters walking on a linoleum floor of the halls of a high school. Wonderful concept. I consider Naoko Yamada and Kensuke Ushio to be geniuses of the highest order. Anyway love what you are producing. Please keep up the great work.

As someone who has seen this anime multiple times, you have captured the essence of their emotions in a wonderful way. For those who have not seen this anime, I highly recommend it. It does focus heavily on bullying, depression and suicide, but it also focus on compassion to fight those things as well.

This song is a year old and I STILL get chills and hit with the flood of emotions I got when I first watched this movie EVERYTIME the drop at 2:44 happens..such a perfect way to represent that moment of the movie, a very full,epic sound to say "hey this is an important part" yet still holding a darker tone to go with what's actually happening in the scene..this is such a masterpiece. I'll never get tired of this song.

The second I saw the title, I knew how much this song was gonna hit! If no one has seen the movie or read the manga, I highly recommend it! This story hits a lot of key concepts on hearing impairments as well as dealing with serious mental disorders. I think Divide really nailed this song!

This song reminds me of someone who used to be my best friend. I love her, but she didn't feel the same. My feelings were getting in the way of our friendship so I decided to abandon her for the sake of not hurting due to being rejected. We got to talking back at the end of the last year, and this song pretty much sums up my feelings. This really Highlights the ending and story very well. Shoka wasn't the nicest person to begin with, and he got what he deserved. Throughout the movie, it's seen how he and Nishimiya develop a friendship, and how she seems to forgive him. This movie really highlights how everyone deserves a second chance, because we don't know what's going on behind closed doors
