Atlas Fallen is an action role-playing video game developed by Deck13 Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. The game is set to be released for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S in August 2023.
Atlas Fallen is a third-person action role-playing video game. At the beginning of the game, players can create and customize their own player avatar. The player is equipped with an ancient gauntlet that allows them to manipulate sand. With the gauntlet, players can shape the sand around them into weapons. Players can use three different weapons, though they can only carry two at any given time. Unlike Deck13's previous games, Atlas Fallen is a more traditional action game. Players are required to dodge, counter and block incoming attacks, as well as quickly switching between land and air combat. As players attack enemies, they will gain Momentum. At certain momentum threshold, the weapon the player is currently wielding will transform, and they can unleash a special skill or ability that deals devastating damage to their opponents.

It's giving me Darksiders 2. That had similar visual designs just filtered through a different graphical style, some combat similarities and the same kind of mostly barren open world with dungeons spread around. I see what you mean with the protagonists animation style too, the way they throw their weight around and kind of hang in mid-air.

Definitely agree with your assessment about the armor set. I just went with slotting in as many damage dealing stones to make the game fly by too quickly.

I feel like this is a game that would have benefitted from a demo like forspoken. Just something small like an enemy encounter so we could get a feel for combat. I know the demo didn't work in forspoken's favour but considering how hit or miss games have been recently (and their prices), I tend to not purchase games anymore unless they're being lauded as the best thing since sliced bread, or if there's a demo that I enjoyed.

Unpopular opinion, but being a better Forspoken would be an actually pretty good game. Forspoken's major problems were its characters and world immersion, if you topple and make it more fun than that's just a pretty neat game overall.

@@hiddenleafdrip3869true. I really loved Forspoken’s gameplay system. The movement was fluid and the spells tied perfectly. Sadly the shitty writing and dogshit optimization killed the game. Sucks because I would argue that in terms of combat, Forspoken is one of the best of 2023z

Open worlds are so played out. Everybody wants to have an open world but they dont want to put in the work to make the world feel alive. They want to build a giant map throw a bunch of collectibles there and call it a day. There are very few good open world games that I can think of. RDR2, GTA5, Ghost of Tsushima is pretty decent. What others am i missing?

It's not technically an open world. The world is split up between 4 different regional maps, which you can travel back and forth via the Anvil. They're just very big. A little too empty for my tastes though.

THE WORLD DESIGN !! Pro: - Graphics, overall very good looking world and characters, armor, monster etc.. - Interesting Battle Mechanics - looks smooth and interesting - COOP we dont have COOP games and thats sad and this game has it ! Con: - UI again Dragon Age 2 Style that we all hate.. modern no life style UI ( also in FF16 :/ ) - Great but Empty open world - AA Story and side quests ( not that side quests from ubisoft are better xD 100000000 side stuff but no life in it but this game is more lack luster in them )

What has "trust" to do with anything? When it comes to games and many other media your personal taste will decide if you like something or not. Reviews of a KZfaqr that you like/"trust" might be an indicator, but can't replace your own opinion.

For $50, I’d say this game is more worth it than most triple A $60-$70 games on the market right now. No live service dog crap. No stupid, scummy monetization. Actually functions. Doesn’t feel like it desperately needs more time to bake in the oven. Looks good. Feels like a game from the mid to late 2000s and early 2010s.

I dunno i have a little rule, 10 dollars per hour, so if buy a game for 70 dollars i expect or want to atleast get 70 hours of gameplay, having about 30 hours of gameplay to 100% the game dosnt make the cost sound worth it to me anyway

@@bombyo3634 Forspoken was shit too, with one of the most insufferable, unlikable most annoying character in any game. The traversal was kinda fun but you get some many of those cool spells so late into the game that at that point, you can’t even properly utilize them because then the game is almost over. The writing, characters, story, world and gameplay were all generic and boring.

I don't understand why they feel the need to price it at $50. If its only going to last 10-15 hours, they should put it at a lower price like $30, or even $25. Then people wouldn't feel entirely ripped off at least.

I think at a $50 price point, most people will think '$50 for 12 hours? nah', but if they price it at $30, I'd imagine a lot more people would buy it because the price to game time ratio is a lot more reasonable, therefore they make more money due to more sales

You can't justify a game's price just on game length. I've had some excellent game experiences around the 10hr mark and paid full price. Game length doesn't mean a good game. Look at AC and how bloated it is. The game becomes a drag after 20hrs.

@@sharpkatana1178 I fully agree, so long as the game actually has a lasting impact on you. Some of my top 10 games of all time are 5 hours or less. This game doesn't seem to fit that category, it seems like a 'play once and forget' kind of game.

Hmmmmm yeah this game looked like it was going to be underwhelming, especially in the face of an exciting few months. This game ahould have released early July or early April where few other notable games were being released
