Mark seems to me to be a wonderful person. The Whitakers probably wouldn’t have what they have todayif Mark hadn’t introduced them to the world. He doesn’t make hardly anything off of any of his videos on KZfaq. Most of them get demonetized. He what he does to help others and make others knowledgeable of all different walks of life

Jennifer, Agree totally. Mark's work is underappreciated. I spoke about this in my first video in this series that some of his content was being de-monetized and he needed support outside of YT. He brings up difficult topics and is unfortunately hurt by TY's terms and conditions. He's raised a lot of money for this family and we all hope it is going to the right places. Thanks for your comments.

I’ll tell you what, when Mark first went over to the Whittaker’s and went up to their Trailer home, it looks like a whole different home because of Mark’s help , and you can tell that they haven’t been to Walmart before because of all of the wrong items they started to pick out, LOL!!! When Ray picked out some pink nightgowns and other items that definitely wouldn’t fit him, they were all cracking me up laughing, but it was in good spirits, I would never make in fun of them or mock them, and that’s because I genuinely think that they are so funny!!! I'm a southerner. I'm in total agreement of what you think. I'm a retired Special Ed teacher. I think if they had a good social worker, which they might, it could help. Also, any adult services, but reality is, they will live there for the rest of their lives as you say, just happy and it's all they know. I grew up in the Mississippi Delta. I've lived away, but it too is home for me, even though I don't live there. I taught students in schools and adults too in programs just like the Whittaker. They did live in controlled environments in my adult students -- facilities and or group homes for classes. Students at school.... homelife was so much like the Whittakers. They were the happiest families I ever met in 35 years in education and teaching in 4 states. Many adults I've taught were rescued from situations as the Whittakers. More govt money should be given to assist those people with intellectual disabilities ... if we could get honest overseers in political office to see that our special friends are cared for correctly and safely! I just discovered you today. Thank you for doing this channel. I've watched White Underbelly since Mark started I think. He certainly has helped many if the people he has interviewed. I was so Happy when he was able to get the young women back with her family, a fine family. She had been off of her meds and was greatly confused. That was by the grace of God reunion!!! Updates on other interviewed people have been very good too. I'm glad you do what you do. I'll be watching your channel!

My opinion is sometimes you have to just do something nice for people. Not always pump them with personal questions. Mark is becoming like family to them rather than someone that just wants to always ask them questions about their lives! I enjoyed the video very much. I think they enjoyed having someone do something kind for them. Yes, as you said, Mark could have stopped at a fast food and bought a bag of breakfast sandwiches but depending on how far the closest fast food establishment is the sandwiches would have been cold and greasy and probably quite YUCKY! There would not have been any real kindness in a bag of sandwiches, like the young lady showed by taking her time to cook for them. As for the biscuits, I liked to open them when I was a child but refuse to open a can ever since I became an adult I hate the pop. She was trying to push the seam but it wouldn't open. Some of them are hard to open but that is the directions to push the seam with a spoon. Yes buttermilk is just fine in eggs! You asked for comments and that is my opinion. It is a wonderful thing that Mark and his crew are doing to help this family. I would assume that Content Creators creating reviews using the videos also exploit this family. Reviews about the way southerners would ask questions is a downplay of Mark’s mission. Not one of the content creators would have known that this family existed and if so they would have been shunned. In the beginning videos it was said that Ray stopped going to church because a lady picked and laughed at him. The church is up the “road” from them so I would say that this was a southern church and a southern lady so location doesn’t matter.

Mark needs a Southern dictionary. Elle asked if I reckon meant yes! 😆 He should bring dog food, dog beds and dog treats. Southerners love to sit around. My thoughts here are NOT meant to be disparaging {IE hurtful, insulting, depressing}, but cause THINKING to ensue, so..... after watching all of Mark`s videos I think that his heart MIGHT be in the "right" place, but is this family actually better off now? None of the "core" family members are SAVVY, so they wouldn`t necessarily know that they were a spectacle or being taken advantage of. And how long is Socialmedialand going to support them? Are people going to extend this same compassion long enough for the youngest to benefit? Are those new appliances going to bring deeper poverty? Can they afford the bills that they will likely have now? They now have items that will use a lot of electricity, a lot more items to clutter the house {*some hording going on, and lack of neatness or cleanliness}.... and if the "core" family members are the ones he wanted to help, we now have additional people joining the new-found wealth. Plus it`s very possible that the government will have something to say about their new "wealth" affecting any monies that the family gets from the government agencies {IE social security, food stamps, disability, medicaid, et cetera}. There are newspapers and others picking up on the stories about this family, and Mark {*no offense meant, but is Mark benefitting from this in ANY kind of way - like people buying his books?} and saying some very unkind things {which aren`t exactly wrong things}. I think that MAYBE just replacing the house would have been a good thing. In 1 of the newer videos, we can see that there is a bedroom that`s "off limits" because it`s full of stuff. We also heard something about a tree falling on the house{?}, which likely destroyed the roof {so that they got a new roof}. We can see that the walls are in need of replacement, and look to me that they might be covered in black mold {which causes serious health issues}. And while I wouldn`t normally mind the "core" including anyone they want to include in the receiving of their monetary gifts, we heard that the interior of the tiny house wasn`t completed because funds ran out {MIGHT be true}, and he`s certainly going to want it completed. The Holy Bible says that we will always have poor people among us, and we should do what we can for them. I`ve wondered if there is a nonprofit agency that should be involved in making sure that the funds are used effectively, and that 100% goes to the family {like Mark`s 1-sentence GoFundMe fundraiser says}.

I think it’s a lovely thing to see the family in good spirits however I find your criticism of Marks Sister uncalled for, I’m in London , UK, I’ve not seen a lot of the things used over there, but I do agree about these folk being taken advantage of, I’m not well off myself and only chipped in £5. I’ve noticed those who come and go hoping for a hand out but you can’t let that stop you donating! I hope someone, like Mark and he’s Sister find a safer way of getting them whatever makes them happy and comfortable. It was the joy of watching them enjoy a day out at the fair that prompted me to chip in 💖 that really was special 💝

I add regular milk to scrambled eggs, it makes them fluffier, lighter. I have never used Buttermilk. I don't know how that would work.

Likewise. Never seen buttermilk used. Maybe it works, but it’s not common at least in my family. It would be interesting to see the science behind what a cultured butter milk does to the the protein in eggs. Food for thought.

Mark has no clue about the culture. If he was well versed before going into that specific culture, things coulda gone differently. You'll never get a free ride going into other cultures without stumbling around. Hw shoulda done his homework first.

Take a breath Dorothy. I commend Mark and his work all the time. I link to his GoFundMe page and I have donated to it. Can we not have some fun talking about cultures and seeing us try new things? Why do we all have to be so serious and make life miserable? When I try new things I make mistakes or don't know what I'm doing and it usually is comical. When I am in the countryside of Vietnam or Cambodia I am constantly doing things that make the locals laugh because I get it all wrong. Let's smile and learn from each other even if it is through brevity and comedy. When I left Tennessee after school and moved to Chicago it was comical because I did the inverse of Mark and his assistant. I would go to the store and be unable to find canned biscuits or live as I did back home. Culture is about sharing experiences and learning from them. If you are offended by someone having fun on the internet then maybe you are the problem. Anyways, thanks for your comments, and appreciate the feedback.

Yeah it's funny how Kenneth is living next door, on the property. In a pretty clean little Mobile home. Where Betty is in a run down home. Taking care of the family members who are severely disabled. I believe they could use nursing in the home for there care too. It's really poor living conditions. Not a good situation. Besides other family taking advantage of the money to take care of those family who needs it. Just very bad.
