Dang I really wish it would be possible for these to continue...I've been doing so much searching online for book club things like this for GoT and nothing I found came even close to as interesting or well-discussed as your guys'. Currently on meeting 5. I understand the reasoning, but if it ever does came back, I will certainly be a part of it. Part of it too I think is that Storm of Swords is my favorite book in the series and I was really hoping to get your guys' thoughts on all the CRAZY things that happen.

well, I've done it. initially, i listened to these as they came out, only as a show watcher, enjoying it anyway. then, shortly after this episode aired, i finally decided to read the books, and listen to this again, chapter by chapter. and now I've reached the end. hopefully one day, you guys might return to this, 'cause I've found your insight so amazingly helpful, and now I'm really worried i'll just start to miss everything. in the meantime, i'll just try to channel you all as i continue reading. thanks guys.

As someone who only recently found Practical folks, and started reading the books...I am so sad that I wont have the brilliant commentary throughout my reading adventure. I am only on Meeting 6, and I will cherish each episode up through clash. I hope some of those "oh, star that, it will be important later" moments will bring back memories of these episodes. I read the post on reddit that stated this series is officially canceled with a heavy heart, Good luck in all your future endeavors.

Glad to see book club is back! I wasn't expecting it back so soon. Also, I would just like to point out that every time GRRM says "translator" in the Dany chapter, he really means interpreter. Translation is with the written word, interpreting is with the spoken word. Sorry for the rant, this is my job, so I get a little annoyed when people confuse the two.

I finally had the time to get to this. I'm glad visual book club got quite a bit in, since it's ended I recently finished the series. Which I put down to being sufficiently invested, so thanks. Looking forward to the next one.

Fun fact: Kraznys mo Nakloz insulted Dany and Barristan 17 times (along with various references to sex) during his selling pitch. Now that's how you sell an army of slaves!

I enjoy this because I get an interpretation from a group that I think has a different world view than I do and therefore can give a different angle than I would have seen. I am in Dance in my re-read, it is also interesting to see what you all pick up on that I don't, and what I pick up on that you all miss.

DietBillie Unfortunately we just made a calculation with return on investment being pretty low for this project while other projects we could devote time to are doing better so we want to spend for more time on them. At the end of this month we will launch the podcast of the show with audio episodes of what we've recorded already with the hope to continue from where we are now, and we'll be doing GOT aftershows of course.

So glad I checked you didn’t complete this before I started. But sadly, it means I won’t be investing any of my time in your longer term content, because I can’t be sure you’ll fulfil the promise of completion if you don’t get the numbers.
