Triple 3 has been around for a while. There are lots of folks that monitor those frequencies and test transmit. Very good idea and need more people to get on board . As for reaching out, those in that circle kinda keep to themselves and don’t want attention unless the time is right.

The way things are going, civil radio communication will be prohibited and heavy jammed as soon as the bombs are flying. If history is any indication, usage of civil radio communication will possibly end up with the perpetrator being in prison camp or being shot behind the building for treason.

Way back in college, I was a member of our REACT group. An old Lafayette Comstat 23A base, Turner +2 mic, on a M-117 Super Mag 1/2 wave antenna. Great Fun! I can still 'plug-in' my Lafayette 525 into the cig lighter and use a magnet mount antenna in my Suburban or Marquis. 🙂

We need a net of operators able to run code on 11 meter CB and other bands if needed to relay coast to coast like the old hard wire systems did over 100 years ago. Need to really be thinking outside the traditional box on emergency communications. The current tensions worldwide have us somewhat in a 1930s scenario. I regret not learning to run a key. But I certainly see extreme potential in getting emergency communications through over great distances.

lived through a "100 year" flood in 2008 in NH.....was stuck in the house for 9 days....no electricity....Ran a generator for 2 hours every 4 hours all that time...My neighbors and I had to clear the roads of huge fallen trees for the power company....a few people had small boats we were using to pull supplies from house to house....having a setup like this would have been great.

Having a "net" to help relay info in an emergency is eventually going to be very important. The "old school" will likely be the only one still somewhat standing after an "event" .

Hey Erik, to be honest, I have never heard about the triple 3 idea, it in a way is a peculiar but interesting idea. I've been sort of wanting to get into the idea of ham radio with my grandfathers friend (I've actually mentioned him before, one of those times was on your live stream, the person with the snow blower). We started on it a bit in 2016, but really haven't gone far with the idea since. With what sounds like a dial-up/fax sound, that is interesting. With the Morse code, I know there are probably a few that can decipher that, but sadly, I am not one of them at the moment.

@@FarpointFarms what we need is a highway coast to coast at different latitudes across the country. If we had enough people into radio we could get messages coast to coast without worrying about conditions or skip. It would be good if we could get a grid of people out there that would look like three lines splitting the country horizontal and vertical. Only if citizen band was allowed 100ft towers and the biggest thing 100 watts yes that little extra power does wonders for me I got probably close to about 80 miles covered in either direction. With a 102 whip and my Lincoln 2+ like yours but mine is unlocked and a rm italy amp. I got the kl200 p it's the round pill transistor type the 203 is the mosfet one. I got an mrf 455 transistor in mine I hit it with a 50 watt swing from that Lincoln and it eats it fine, I wouldn't try that with mosfet one 🤣. The Lincoln 2+ will do 45 to 50 watts depends on swr and if you remove the audio limiter which is actually a secret power control you still can control Audio and power with mic gain on radio. When you remove the audio limiter just adjust the mic gain to the desired PEP swing the higher the mic gain the higher the swing😃

Well Amateurs are not allow to operate like a broadcast radios station. Hams must be in contact with or trying to contact other Hams. There are ways to impart information, but generally a Network is opened up for check-ins. If occurrence this happened on CB then there are no holds barred there these days, but generally CB had similar rules as does Amateur, just no one pays any attention to them. I believe for those of us who are Amateurs, we generally try to obey the rules as to not give the FCC any reason to come down on us, because they are always looking for bandwidth they can sell to commercial entities who will pay big money. I am a General Class btw... I was actually thinking of teaching a Technician class for my local group, but just not recommend they get the license for anonymity purposes. The could if they wanted to use the hobby now. And that was old fashion analog Morse Code found at the end of them message. Morse code is extremely affective for short concise bursts of info over long distances, but it is no longer required for a license hence, it is becoming a lost art. It is pretty universal world wide however.

While that is hard to pull off, we did it back in the early 90's with local dial up BBS's One would call another that called another and in 24 hours or so the messages reached across the globe with no long distance charges. Some of those older things like REACT etc went beyond the USA. A lot of the newer stuff has become USA only and a lot of the material doesn't even appear to acknowledge those boundaries. I find that off, being so close to the US border, as most Canadians are (even outside the Bermuda err Toronto triangle).

I noticed the kit you recommended came with an optional 3db+ gain, So wouldn't that double the output? Then I'm not sure if that's still in the part 15 guild lines. Am I wrong about that? Im pretty sure they aren't going to come knocking if you are hardly at a half watt.

Depends if the limit is described as effective radiated power or amplifier peak envelope power. ERP is affected by antenna gain while amplifier power is not.

In the event of something big happening in this country, the last thing I’m worried about is the fcc rules. They never had any business getting their dirty hands in there to begin with. I think 333 is a great idea, but everyone knows about it. Meaning, even the bad guy. Easy to find people’s location and take advantage. If possible, make your own group, keep it secret, and yes use code words regardless of what the fcc says. Do you trust the fcc? Do you really believe they have your safety in mind? Why would the fcc be so interested in controlling speech and outlawing things like code words? Could it possibly be because they want to know everything? I really can’t stand it when people promote the fcc or try to encourage other people to bow down. Sorry but this is still America, we still have freedom of speech and nothing, including any laws can take that away. Do what you have to do. Stop being brain washed and think for yourself. Certainly make your own plan. Use common sense.
