I live in Cork Ireland everytime I put a shovel in the garden that type of stuff comes up.They are doing a new motorway nearby and have found a 6000 year old farm and house bronze Age some of the first farmers in Ireland apparently.

That sounds awesome, would love to see that. Ireland is so beautiful and I imagine chock a block with history. We don't have that kind of history in Australia and I am a history nut. KZfaq allows me to live vicariously lol.

This was a first viewing for me and astounded at the depth you were able to achieve and continued to find another and another bottle. What a varied selection of types, medicine, perfume, beer, wine and the miscellaneous crockery. It was nice to see the dig in a dry area and not ankle deep in water as in the past video. Great job team and thanks Tom for unearthing all the treasures.

Lots of people are complaining about your re runs... My memory is not working well enough to be criticize the same posts showing up again.... It's fine with me personally...I catch stuff I have missed early on the original posts.... Thanks for sharing this fun stuff... Just ignore the trolls... They're not ever going away...If you don't even mention them, they're gonna be very unhappy... Don't feed the trolls and it makes for an awesome experience 😂... Impotent rage and snarling from the losers always cheers me up.... You might consider posting some of the restoring of the old buggies and the many things you're restoring and repairing in your work shop...I was just able to watch you working on a very old carriage but it was a clip that left me wishing for more... There's more than outhouse digging in your list of things you enjoy doing... More 🤓,!!!

It might be a rerun for some but for me….it was awesome! You must have been so tired when finished. 12 ft down and then possibly a well. Weren’t you a little worried the bottom would stop out and you would fall? No wonder the top layer of earth kept sinking. Which brings up the question….when you fill the hole back up do you or the owners have to add more dirt?

Someone had a drinking problem and another a drug problem…. No honestly. I can’t believe the amount of different styles shapes and uses these bottles and jars you found. But the cobalt blue one was so gorgeous. I cannot believe how deep you went. It was a real history lesson. My sisters and I would go digging on some waste land not far from our allotment we found a few whole iron stone jars and a couple of bottles. But most where in bits. I couldn’t tell you there era. Loved watching this. It brought back some wonderful memories.

When I see people excavating old outhouse pits from 18th and early 19th urban houses, I always get a little shudder. I remember the stories of how unwanted babies found their way into those cesspits - let’s face it only a few were ever found at the time. I always feel for the archaeologists, dreading what they may find. The old sewer “cleaners” in major cities used to find many infants floating their way down the tributaries on their way to the way to the sea.

Looks so much better! You know what I have noticed? You seem to frequently pick houses that are on the corner lots. I know how much more work that the corner lots are compared to mid block lots. But, the benefits are reaped by so many more folks! Thank you for doing the good works 😊 you're an inspiration. ❤

The house I grew up in was built around 1885 just a one room cabin then. But after looking at old city fire maps discovered two outhouses that was now under a huge two car garage. One of them I could actually get to and dig it was full of old medicine and baby bottles just a few whiskeys and but one really old whittle mold beer bottle.

Wow! that Alfred Meakin bowl was made 2 miles away from me. Now lost as part of deindustrialisation and mass unemployment ,In the year 2000 the production of J&G Meakin ware ceased and the Eagle Pottery was given over to the production of Johnson Bros tableware - they produced at the Eagle Pottery until 2004 when manufacturing was transferred abroad. The Eagle Pottery works were demolished in 2005.

Interesting fact about your wringer or mangle as we call it in the UK is that the oldest known model is a Norwegian mangle board, found near Bergen and dated 1444! I remember being a kid in the 70's and we weren't the richest in the world, but we had a twin tub with mangle attachment and a huge wooden spoon to agitate the washing! It got the clothes extremely clean tbh!

😂😂 one of my early memories is, as a toddler, climbing on a chair to watch mom put our clothes through the wringer before going out to hang them on the line. I recall deciding to "help" by pushing the clothes faster, and the horror when the mangle tried to eat my arm! Luckily mom was there to rescue me. I had a very healthy respect for that piece of machinery afterwards.

Unbelievable. No WAY I would have stayed in there and kept digging after finding the sinkhole without getting some kind of safety gear in place before continuing. Chances were too high of disturbing whatever was keeping the entire thing stable by digging around, please be careful! Finding stuff is fun and all but not worth your safety.

*At 50mins the 'Wringer' is also known as a 'Mangle' by some folks, probably due to it mangling many fingers & hands when wringing out the washing... There is one still being used today, like 1950/60 type versions of it clipped onto an old concrete tub in a rural 10 acre block. nz.*
