We couldn’t find any official information on the river other than a few sailors who had also ventured up. We motored up and paddled down. After talking to James though, he said the locals prefer no engines on the river. So, if you choose to venture up in your dinghy try to paddle or perhaps a SUP or kayak would be ideal. But if you’re not into paddling, James will give you a personal tour of his river, for a very small fee. You can call him to schedule. James: 87 35 95 31

These are the memories you'll treasure 40 years from now. Which island had which shipwreck will fade away, boat troubles will fade away, you'll have to go to the video to remember exactly where the best diving was, it all fades. But this guy you'll remember the rest of your lives. Cheers, what a great experience.

Stories like this are what makes traveling so special! There's a quote by Saint Augustine: "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page." I have several pages under my belt, but videos like this make me realize I've not yet even finished a chapter. Thanks so much for sharing! It is inspiring.

Curiosity has always traveled with an open hand, ready to give, not take. Today Curiosity crossed paths with another open hand, ready to give, no expectations of anything other than friendship. It is a joy and a confirmation that people want to give not take. You always get ten fold of what you give. Thank you for a great lesson in humanity.

Isn’t it amazing how people touch our lives in positive ways? Total strangers can be so kind and welcoming. Loved this encounter. I also love and respect your decision to not film it all. Enjoying the interaction with James and warming your hearts does not have to be recorded for us. You gave us just enough. What a lovely man. I am sure you brought him joy too. He got to hear about your adventures, make you both feel welcome and share a bit of his land and life. Win Win, or should I say Win Wynn. Cheers to you and your curious adventures. As someone who has met people from 6 of the seven continents on earth I'd like to say "totally normal to meet such genuine kindness". Indeed it is normal even totally so, yet to such a degree as your stranger in the forest it is exceptional. Such encounters remind me how great we humans are. Thanks for this one, I needed it.

This one brought tears to my eyes. Nikki, I get how hard it is to try to describe those truly special moments. It’s deciding it’s better and more respectful to be in that moment personally rather than try to record it to share with others no matter how much you want to. Loved seeing you go by the waves with the surfer. ❤️🙏🏼 Safe sailing!

Thank you, Jason and Nikki. This was different from all other videos. Serendipity is too flippant of a word for the seemingly random providence that took you to that river on that day to meet James, as Jason said. He said it with awe. Nikki talked about feeling respectful and humble at the vulnerability and intimacy with which James accepted you as trusted friends, and you, him. That you could even BE there is amazing enough, but adding your fearless comfort in exploring a new world, plus the wonders of creation that open up to you and to us-it’s almost too much to take in. Thank you for sharing so faithfully. I can’t wait to see you in Tahiti.

And that (French Snobs refusing to answer the radio) is quite the contrast to James. In the brief glimpses you provided, I could see a ton of character in this man. Doing what you two do, I'll bet you are both most excellent judges of character. It seems you would have to be. Those eyes and that face of James had a story to tell. Totally obvious, was that he's a man of strong integrity. Hey, you saw him better than I did, but I'll bet you agree. I think you were very fortunate to meet this man, if only for a brief encounter.

Made me think of when I was a kid and we went on family holidays to rural France and the locals would welcome us in and share their wine and produce. It really is one of their best. It's simple (to us; a lot of work still for them) and relaxing and full of kindness all around. I love that they respected James' privacy by only showing a bit of their time with him. They captured just enough to share his generosity with us.

Texas BK about 40 years ago I was Niki!!! However, didn’t get to all the great spots she has - only the Bahamas. It’s a great life. Too bad my husband wanted to give it up

I have enjoyed your stories over this last year and wanted to inform that my family and are looking into sailing around the world. Thanks so much for the motivation that lends itself to having the courage to change one's life into an enjoyable adventure. Keep up the excitement as I have learned a ton about entering the boating community.

changed up the vibe, in a casual interesting way, to make another document of positive human interaction. Nikki's right to notice and relish the moment. Another win for the Wynn's and us watching!

Great video guys, I love it when you get the chance to make friends with the locals. Damn, I wish you could share more than one video a week, I feel we miss so much of what you’re seeing... But I know that because of the quality of the videos you produce it has to take a lot of your time just in the editing. So I understand. And it is so worth waiting until Sunday for the next one... Love y’all !

I think this might be my favorite video that you've shared with us 'Armchair Travelers.' You highlighted the goodness in someone that was reacting to the trust and respect that you both showed him. How very, very nice. Once again you have put a smile on my face and warmth in my heart. Thank you.
