Yeah video was too short to get into the details of flexibility, but powerful effects mixed with flexibility means it should be a realllly good card.

Yeah abilities can beat you in a hurry. Shutting them down for a turn can be huge.

It's instant speed, so it's better than you might think. I agree it's not as good as those cards though

Yeah instant speed is a huuuge deal. With a sunfall for example. You mostly tap out for your turn, and every rebuilds before you do. Instant speed you just wait til the perfect moment. Its really good when your behind on tempo or last turn in the turn order.

Ive been aware of fated retribution for a while, but the 7 mana has always made me balk at it. I vastly prefer rout because its more flexibile. But Showdown will waaayy more flexible than both. That said Rout and Fated are both super cheap and showdown will probably be expensive for a while. All that said, instant speed board wipes are insanely powerful and maybe the 7 mana on fated just doesnt matter that much.

Yeah its a powerful and flexible. I didnt have time to get into the nuance of playing with each mode, but yeah it will find ways to make itself useful in a game.

You can choose all 3 modes, but you do have to pay for them as they are additional costs. So for just the board wipe it would be 2 to activate, then 5 for the board wipe portion, and you can choose to pay the other additional modes if you need them as well.

Settle really isn't good

@@SN3AKYSTRANG3R226 it blows out indestructible slithers and anything else for that matter.. yes it ramps your opponent but depending on the situation they may not even have that many basics left and it can result in a crack back for lethal on an empty board for yourself so… I do really like it.

Settle the wreckage is a solid choice. The age old question for me is settle the wreckage or comeuppance. Most of the time I do side with comeuppance, but settle is so valueable for getting around indestructible. You do need to be careful with whatever lands they get though. I have found it can be dangerous against green because of how many cards they can draw.

I think this will be on the level of teferi's protection in that, it will always find a way to make itself useful in a game.

Do we know how spree interacts with isochron yet?

@@guyinthecorner0 It should work the same way as sunforger...you pay your 2 to cast the finale and then pay the additional costs... so it would be a 7 mana board wipe on a stick

Yeah thats pretty disgusting. Most things under isocrhon are, but the modes on this are nasty.

Indeed it does. But settle only works things that are attacking. A lot of times that annoying value creature you need to get rid of doesnt go anywhere near combat.

Indestructible can't be killed with destroy effects so the board wipe from this card won't work on your creature

Unsure of the nature of your question. Indestructible creatures arent killed by destroy effects. So removing all abilities allows you to kill indestructible creatures. Then if you pay for the second mode, the effects are applied in order of the card, so remove all abilities first, then add indestructible to one of yours, then wipe the board. Does that help?
