The dual shower bathroom is an absolute must in any serious van build. I've seen so many van videos that waste that valuable space behind the driver's seat with a closet or a larger kitchen counter. If you're on the road you need a private bath and shower. Relying on public restrooms or rest stops just doesn't cut it. Rest stops are not safe at night. A portable toilet under a cabinet will stink up the entire van.

Agreed. When traveling in my PW, I usually shower in the van as opposed to Planet fitness. And I love the convenience.

I feel like ill never be able to build my dream van :( Dealing with allot right now and some pretty severe depression over loosing my daughter, followed by a bad car accident which resulted in just to much at once and between my leg and the emotional stress i lost my career that i loved, the business soon went under as it was being held together by me putting in 80+ hour weeks at the greenhouse. I have been watching vanlife videos since the accident, but i have gone so broke and am just in a huge hole i dont know what to even do anymore :( Thanks for the videos it truly is the only thing that takes my mind off of everything and puts a smile on my face for a short time. How to prevent mosquitos coming into the van when your filling up would be the thing I would want solved next. Maybe closing the door just enough to keep the hose in place. But then you are likely to have it overflow if you take your eyes off it. Hmmmm I love a good puzzle.

Absolutely stunning. As far as the pea-brained idea, on my LTV Sprinter I have to go inside and out of the van (all the way around through the slider) multiple times to check the water tank fullness while filling (or I keep the slider closed and just wait until it over-fills and spills onto the road). So, I do like the simplicity of just filling it directly into the tank itself. If you have pets, you're right there to keep guard at the door so they don't escape (we take our two cats with us everywhere). Yeah, I like it. I suppose you might want to consider all weather conditions in this situation as well. If it were raining or super cold outside, having the door open while you fill might be a less than desirable situation. You and your son are an amazing team. The furniture work is world-class. At Boeing we used to do full-scale "mock-ups" of the airplane with dimensional lumber (2x4s, 2x2s, plywood, sheet metal, plastic pipes, etc). There are SO MANY ADVANTAGES to the way you are doing this George. So much better than an engineering drawing. Your process is very customer-in. What an amazing way to preview exactly what you're going to get. There is absolutely ZERO way to get that experience on a drawing or even a 3D rendering. Nothing like the real thing, walking through the mock-up/pre-build. Maybe you can create a cardboard clothing line too. You are great with that stuff!! Take care you two! Sending cooler weather from Washington State.

The inside water fill is a small but brilliant touch. It will afford a weekly or bi-weekly look see at the tank and contents and eliminates the worry of someone messing with an unlocked outside fill. That is one detail other manufacturers/builders overlook. Alex is an artist pure and simple.

Amazing, as usual. The craftsmanship of your son ( and you !) ...well... bespoke par excellence. On the one hand I really like your idea regarding fill of the fresh water tank. Simple. Elegant. On the other hand if weather is inclement ( rain, snow, cold ) mosquitoes, swarms of 'no see ums' or as in my case yesterday a single friggin blood sucking horse fly in unrelenting attack mode, could with driver open door, without screen, while filling, possibly create an issue. I'd recommend offering the option to your customers weighing pros/cons.

I was just at a van event and saw several vans with skeeter beater window coverings on their front windows. Airflow comes in but bugs stay out. I think these could be used while feeding a hose though the window to fill the water tank. I’d use a towel to put under the hose where it sits on the window to protect the paint on the door. The screens would solve the bug problem. I suppose if one had to fill the tank in the rain you could use the same screens because their held in place with strong magnets, just put a plastic garbage bag like a lawn bag under the screen to keep the rain out while filling the tank. Just a count of ideas, maybe other subscribers have ideas about this.

@Leone Ranger … filling a water tank from the inside or even on the door frame is asking for water spillage getting inside. If George designs a system to prevent that … great. If not, George will find a solution. As is, I don't see it as a superb design … maybe it'll morph into one as he sees the drawbacks and refines it. Consider the futon … yes, it doubles as a couch and a bed … but there is a reason why futons aren't in everyone's home … that reason is lack of comfort as the futon wears with use (speaking from experience). Again, George will get practical feedback on his designs, learn from them and adapt. It's those adaptations that keep me interested in his channel. Cheers, Steve

I like the simplicity of the water tank fill. Good idea. The wood really adds that finsihing touch, nicely done. You have taken the knowledge of building your van and shared it with the Ram ProMaster build. They call that the "learning curve". You took quite a long time developing a great concept, now they will start to come together quickly. It only took two weeks to get the layout they wanted in cardboard... Nice work. I really like the 80/20 instead of the rotting lumber that rots from the moisture in the propane. I really like the Xantrex Power Inverter equipment. Top notch stuff. These vans will be on the road for a very long time. Finally! A van with a large sink!!!

Love your wit and sense of humor. LOL. Glad the trickle wasn't urine. I think it's a great idea. Been trying to come up with a downside to that idea, but I got nothing.

Bacteria Is introduced when touching the opening of the water fill. I like the idea of the opening to the tank, to be able to keep an eye how clean things are staying. And if somebody walks away when filling... oh me oh my.
