At that point if they conitnued with the surgery, they would have complications with the gallstones after. Normally they'd do 30-60 minutes of resuscitation, but it's a tv show, that wouldn't be interesting. That's why they shorten it. Also, you can't really do real compressions on a healthy person (aka the actor). Either they have to use a manikin, but then they can't show the face, or they show the real actor but then they can't do good compressions.

I've never liked Dr. Manning as a character. She always bursts into the conversation with her own opinion with arrogance and optimism, and she gets personally offended when she's shot down or confronted. She's always right, and when she isn't, she's the victim. Like any time Halstead tries to comfort her, she just blows him off or goes off on him. The actress does a brilliant job portraying a really shitty doctor and person.

My moms side including my mom is slso completely good - shes also healthier compared to the rest. I think its broadly even for women a lifestyle thing. But i think women are also more susceptible to it at the same time. Just bad luck really - nothing you can do about it really. I mean if you're not overly unhealthy then you've done all you can and well - you just got unlucky i guess really no other way of putting it. But hey its not optimal, but if i were to have some medical illness - gallstones are on my list of "give me this rather than this" So yah - could be worse
