06:35 Monte Gordo is actually a beach resort not far away from Vila Real de Santo António and well visible in your drone footage to the west. It's considered by many people as the "Benidorm of the Algarve", due to its warm and calm seawater in the summer and mild weather troughout the year (in the peak of summer, temperatures generally don't go under 20ºC, and maximum temperatures in the winter are generally above 15ºC almost everytime). I know lots of people in there. In fact, almost my whole family in from the Guadiana valley, and even today I have a house in the nearby beach village of Cabanas de Tavira. Now it's only a holiday house, because I live in another part of the country. It's interesting to see a place that I already know very well, but from a very different perspective! Boa Páscoa!!!

Another amazing video as always guys. Loved it. I can't believe I have never heard of this place in the Algarve. I thought I had already experienced the best Algarve had to offer when I visited Lagos, Lagoa, and Albufeira. First, great video as always. I appreciate you taking the time to explore yet another side to Algarve's historical heritage. Let me reiterate that the Algarve is not a playground to the rich as you might think. Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura, where I believe you've been to, are not representative of its people and culture. There are plenty of historical sites for you to visit (see: my old comment). Thank you, once again!

I adore VRSA and have been many times. Monte Gordo is 10 mins away with beautiful beach. The Guidianna is lovely in the boat trips. I took the ferry over to Spain. There's a lovely Restaurant up the top end of the Marina.

Its nice to see the hotel rebuild. Till a few years ago it was completely ruined. You guys missed a few things in vila real but two days are not enough to see all the charm that the city and the sorroundings can offer.

I spent many of my vacations in vila real and everytime i passed the hotel i had in my mind that one day someone would grab the projrct of rebuilding and bring back the charm that belongs to that hotel. They also have a poolside bar next to the lighthouse. The market is also amazing. For me the best algarve area ever

I sincerely hope they revamp the auto rental agencies since it’s ridiculous how long it takes to pick it up and wait; how long and excruciating it is to return the car....they’ll pull out the magnifying glass to look for any damage they can find. I had a bad experience with Europcar where a super tiny scuff from a pebble on the windshield was spotted and they billed me 111.90 euros!! Beware!

So fabulous (definitely take the Alpha Pendular train from Lisbon to Faro and get a car there). Train is the fastest and lower cost with gas and tolls.

The best fish I ever ate was by the harbor, at the fishermen's pier in Vila Real de Santo Antonio. The fishermen had this ramshackle place with a few wooden tables and a large wood-burning grill out back. Menus were non existent. The day's catch was displayed on this long table, on a bed of ice. You chose the fish, they cooked it for you. We downed this whole deliciously grilled fish, from head to tail, with a couple of bottles of chilled Monsaraz. It was bliss. It's been a few years, so I don't know if the fishermen have kept up the tradition.

Yippee, you highlighted sweet Vila Real de Santo Antonio. I live here and we do have a beach but it is hidden just past the pine tree groves. There is a great restaurant on the sand and one just on the dunes also. They have chairs and loungers for rent so you don´t need to bring anything but yourself and your towel. Say hello next time you are in town and I would love to share some hidden spots with you. I moved here 5 years ago and I still find wonderful surprises every day.

There is another mini lisbon, but not so obvious. You should check Porto Covo, in Costa Vicentina. It has a similar history.
