I know exactly how you feel. I am driving a 1990 Volovo 240 foour door sedn and I am in love with her.Like you say sitting behind the wheel it makes me happy.Over the years I have owned 18 Volvos, from 544s ,122S s,145 s, a 740 wagon,and V70 wagon. The 240 beats them all , having always wanted a tank the 240 is as close as you can get.The 240 I have was given great care and had no rust ,surprising for a Maine car. She's white with blue interior ( like new) and the odometer reads 207000. I am 79 and this will more than likely be my last car , what away to go out !

Volvo 240's are great cars with a subtle design with class as well as simple vehicle construction. glad you to enjoy the 200 series for the car just being how it is. Wish 200 series were more readily available as well is more rust free here in Montana.

I love my 240 i just left school and got a job as a motor mechanic and next door is a car yard so i bought this old 240 as my first car and i love it only 136000km should last a lift time.

240 Volvo, best car Volvo ever made.

I bought my 1993 240 new, May 5, 1993. Twenty five years later I still drive it regularly. It is white with blue cloth interior. It replaced the 1974 Volvo 145 which we bought new in Europe in 1974. The 240 has travelled 230,000 miles. It is the best car we have ever bought.

Awesome video/ story! Currently I am the second owner of an 86 wagon. This is my sixth 240 and they are amazing! I've purchased other vehicles in-between the 240s (mainly trucks) but nothing can come in comparison. The volvo 240 is such a wonderful car and makes my wife and I so happy! Glad to hear there are others out there that enjoy 240s for what they are. :)

You seem to have dodged the bullet on the plastic odometer gear that dies around 180,000 miles! Hope your good luck and enjoyment continues with your 240.

Who wouldn't be happy driving around in Hill Country? 2nd owner of a white 1986 240DL saloon. I happened to be there the night it was purchased by my grandfather shortly after my eleventh birthday so I know the complete history of this meticulously maintained car. Little over 90k and still has an R12 AC system. She only comes out on the weekends with no bad weather in the forecast which is often living in Arizona. Love my weekend cruiser.

Love these cars - I have a white 240. Just glides on the roads like a magic carpet, looks fab, and is cheap to maintain. I'll never stray from the 240's.

i also have a white 4 door 240. its my third volvo and i love it. your never really in a rush with the volvo it has that nice rpm range where your driving just driving fast enough. in Holland alot of people have them. from student tot starters, familys and older people. its a car that has little maintenance and if you have to do something its pretty easy.

Cool! I grew up in a '83 turbo wagon; was driven home from the hospital in it, and drove that same car to highschool in early 2000's and it was still faster than all the Honda ricers, lol. I just picked up an IMMACULATE '85 244; one owner car, an elderly couple that kept it at their Colorado summer home. 215,000 miles and it looks like it drove out of the assembly plant last month! Slowest car I've ever driven, but I like it the most! My little brother owns an '83 242 turbo "group A" car, with a 16v head swap and big turbo, fun car! Volvo 240's are going to be big in the car world soon I think; millions are out there for cheap, relatively light, RWD, and an engine bay that can accept everything from Small Block Chevy's to Toyota 2JZ-GTE motors!

I also have a '92 244 same color, but yours is much cleaner! Mine is all rotted out but I do all the repairs needed and even more (it's a bit tricked out :P). The mileage is uncertain but it's approaching 300 000 miles and everything works. I've owned Volvos for 7 years and I keep looking back when I park the car and head home and having a blast driving it. It's got a front sway bar a 150hp engine with a nice sounding 2 1/4 inch exhaust and a diff locker :P. Still not fast but I love it.

i have a 93 940 turbo wagon and i love that damn car . no its not the fastest or flashiest car she was abused by her previous owner so ive replaced the water pump oil seperator timing belt and tensioner and radio supression relay. ive only owned it a short time but i absolutly love this car ill never sell it subbed btw and ive watched this vid like 15 times

I paid 700 dollars for a 1990 240 with 123000 miles has a little rust but runs like a top. figured I could drive the money out of the car.
