A nice video for a quick impression. However, a lot of significant places and important information have been missed. Konya was the capital city of Anatolian Seljuk State, which is the first Turkish empire in Anatolia. In order to observe Seljuk architecture visiting Karatay & İnce Minare Museums is essential. Ottoman Archtitecture can be observed in Konya, too. Aziziye Mosque and Historical Bedesten ( Bazaar) are the most prominent ones. Also, Konya Archeological Museum, as the foundation date, is the second archeological museum in Turkey. It is home to numerous ancient artifacts. Catalhoyuk, which is thought be as the oldest settled life area in history, is located in Cumra district of Konya, it is about 90 km to city center. (Excavations are still being carried out) Not even mentioned about Rumi. He is just a huge reason to visit Konya. Don't miss the Semah ceremonies. Lastly, I recommend you to visit Ataturk Museum in the city center. Hope this helps in your trip to Konya.

Thanks for your time and giving so nice review for the city. Are you from Konya? What about the universities for foreign students delivering lectures in English?
@furkananlar6794
@furkananlar6794 3 жыл бұрын
@@nathaliebnn8862 Yes, I am. Actually not sure about the universities delivering lectures in English. There are 2 private and 3 state universities in Konya. State: Selcuk, Necmettin Erbakan, Konya Teknik. Private: KTO Karatay, Konya Food and Agriculture(Gıda ve Tarım). State universities' programmes are turkish in general. So are privates. There might be exceptions for some faculties. It'd be helpful to check their websites or send an email.

it's the country which connects the east and the west, and it lives up to it's reputations. Most people just visit Istanbul and that's it, but I think cities outside Istanbul are just as interesting, especially the friendly people. Visiting Turkey is like visiting an open air museum every where. Same as Greece, ancient statues every where, even in the garden of the Istanbul Archeological museum since it doesn't have enough space indoor.

Thank you so much for going to Konya. It was like a walk down memory lane for me. For any foreigner thinking of working in Turkey, make sure the company gets you a WORK VISA. Because, some unscrupulous companies will try to get you to work on a RESIDENT VISA. Turkey is an amazing country, but there are some people who will take advantage of foreigners. Glad you enjoyed your time there.

These types of vids NEVER get tired man! Some of us really love to know about those seemingly small details you share, like the experiences with trying to get cash at an ATM. I can remember a few times somehow half-anticipating that my bank back home might block the withdrawal for whatever reason, and then it kinda feels like you've hit a mini-jackpot on a slots-machine when you can hear the cash approaching😁.

Hey Brother man, swanky digs ..I am still at the tent traveler level ha! All joking aside... I realized I was at the Kusadasi Castle out in the ocean area 20 min before that Izmir quake, then I walked to the bus stop inland when it hit. It damaged over 100 buildings in the town of Kusadasi. I rode a Izban train into Izmir the next day and made a video of them trying to rescue people in a flattened building, they were able to save quite a few. I am glad you made it through Konya cause I won't have time for that place, now I know some of the places there. Thanks!

Thanks for "taking" me to Konya, I didn't have time last summer for this religious city. It reminds me a lot of Izmir, especially the tramps lines, the markets. I agreed, Cappadocia & Ephesus are so fascinating. Did you made it to the turtle hospital in Dalyan? Did you like the new Istanbul airport? has they run the metro from the airport to the city center yet? It was open in April 2019, so no metro lines connecting to the city when I was there in June last year, and the taxi cost a lot. I remember the visa was issued for 30 days, did you extend your visa or your stay was only 30 days? I hope you will take us to a sunny place next (is the Caribbean open?), to forget about our 2nd lock down the rest of this year. With 3 promising vaccine coming soon, I can't wait to visit Jordan next year.
