Nora from Queens grows on you. At first I was like "meh", then "nah", later "I'll give it another shot", and now I watched every episode LOL. I think the thing is that there's a different writer every week so each episode feels different than the last, hoping they get a solid writing crew :)

Yes, the actress was a bad ass kung-fu girl in TV before; then this wonderful cameo so well, vulnerably, and hilariously played. What I most admire about Awkwafina is her ability, and desire, to react to the other actors, giving them great opportunities to shine as the comic force, not just her own moments. Why I am thrilled season 2 is shooting now. in NYC. Hope Grace is back in it at some point...

TV and movies shoot in other locations all the time - so many films and shows set in LA are filmed in Vancouver to cut production costs. It's not personal to the city.

Juliet I am curious if you are from Taipei and seeing them saying ohhh it is Beijing you would be happy about it .... it means that this tv show doesn’t have good credit for showing place correctly ..... they did shot in Beijing airport and they have to fly to Taipei to shoot a fake science pretending it is Beijing??? I do not think it is about saving production cost at all

I hear you. Mislabeling Taiwan as the mainland is shitty, but this is done pretty often, films set in the US are shot in Canada all the time and it wasn't a political move. If anything it was the PRC's politics/paranoia and the rise of xenophobia in the mainland that made Taiwan a better choice for them when it came to shooting.
