Join Tom and Stace for our first ever visit to the Black Country Living Museum! This open air museum of rebuilt historic buildings, shops and houses is based in Dudley, West Midlands, and focuses on how life was like mainly between 1850-1950. Featuring roaming live actors and demonstrators to help explain the time period, the attraction has a very authentic feel, with current plans to expand for the future. One of the main reasons why we wanted to visit was due to it also being the home of certain filming locations for the amazing BBC drama, Peaky Blinders!

My 5th Great Grandparents were married at St. Thomas Church in 1820. Robert and Sophia Osborn. Robert was a Blacksmith. They ended up in Blaenavon just before 1830, their 3rd child was born there. In 1837 they immigrated to Brooklyn. Thank you for this awesome video.

It’s a lovely little museum to be fair not that big but then again Beamish open air museum was once the size of this and look at it know. As buildings and things get recreated and rebuild over time I have no doubt this will be just as big as Beamish

A bit of bad luck with the rain and so many things being temporarily closed. Still, it looks like a very well-run and interesting museum, and also easy to get to for a lot of people since it's so close to Birmingham. The industrial history of the Black Country, with both its good and its dark sides, is very interesting and fascinating. Also, Victorian Age schools are always so deeply unsettling and grim - so glad that things have changed! We also have a similar open-air history museum here in Helsingborg in Sweden where I live, called Fredriksdal - also well worth a visit if you are ever nearby.

You missed a treat not doing the canal trip. Was about £10 extra last time I went but well worth it. The traditional fairground (when operational) is better than the one at Beamish otherwise Beamish is rather superior. Did you see what it was they are building?

The best Time to go down the mine is when they have their Halloween Theme Nights!!!! It’s pitch black and there are People dressed up in Halloween costumes jumping out of everywhere to scare You…. Even though You know it’s all fun and Games there is something very unsettling when it’s dark and knowing People are waiting for You but You can’t see them….
