On October 29th 2022, me & my dad went to Kemble Cotswold Airport to go on a tour of the British Airways Negus liveried Boeing 747-400 (G-CIVB). This was such a great experience, especially for a Boeing 747 lover like myself! Kemble Cotswold Airport is known for being the UKs biggest aircraft graveyard & is a bit of an emotional place to be because of all the retired & scrapped aircraft! Despite the sad sight of retired & scrapped aircraft, its still a nice place to visit, & it has a café called "The Avi8 café", toilets & flight schools.
Backstory:
Back in 2020, British Airways decided to retire their Boeing 747s, & a few of them made their final flights into Kemble Cotswold Airport, including the one in the Negus livery (G-CIVB) which made its final flight on October 8th 20220. Instead of being scrapped, Cotswold bought the aircraft for only £1, yes, that's right, £1, & decided to keep the seats at the front of the aircraft, but removed almost all of Economy/World Traveller seats so they could turn the back of the aircraft into a party room which can be rented for £1000 per hour. Tours are available on Wednesdays & Saturdays & a ticket for someone aged 13+ costs £10.
Thanks to @CPlanespotting for letting me use his video of G-CIVB making its final landing into Kemble Cotswold Airport! • British Airways Boeing...
