Great vid guys, love your set-up, on the problem of water pulling on top of awning, if you get some clips that don't harm the canvas and clip in-between the arms then some cord down to tent pegs slightly pulling down tension, the water runs of, and you can collect the water as well. Experiment with this it works, cheers, 🤗

"It Just Felt Right" Because they are so hard to get and he was just not budging on price - Sadly I did not get it. Cool backstory - that a year and a half ago you had never heard of a Troopy. Hello Mr and Mrs Fritz, Thank-you for letting us follow you along with your troopy journey. Your tour through the troopy is very informative and full of great inspiration. From 6:02 in the video you start talking about the 30 second awning and I am interested in information regarding the side brackets and the rear corner bracket for the awning. Are these brackets custom made? I like the way they are bolted? or using rivnut? through the body section for strength. We have a fibreglass poptop troopy and therefore need brackets and awning support that is very similar to yours. Could you please post a link or reply with how they were made etc. I'm not sure if you can add pics or do a short KZfaq video on the mounting system used. Keep up the great videos and and thanks for bringing your fun into our homes during these covid times.
@fritzintroopy
@fritzintroopy 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! thanks for the great feedback. The awning was fitted by Expedition Centre in Sydney and I think the brackets are made by them as well. Give them a call to find out more. They are held on by a combination of a rivnut I assume and a bracket that clamps onto the chrome roof rail area. hope that helps. You can contact me through Insta @fritzintroopy and I can send you some pics if you like

Legends, i'm looking at buying the Camp Cover Storage Bag which i also intend to mount on the underside of my Mulgo bed base. However i couldn't help but notice you appear to have a small section 'cut out/removed' of the side mount which the bed platform sits on. And i was wandering did you cut this small section out? If so, why? Was it to enable the Camp Cover Storage bag to be installed whilst the bed is down? Skip to 19m46s and i'm referring to the bed side mount thingy above the forward rear side window. gosh i hope i explained that well

Thanks for your great feedback. We do love the setup because it is simple and extremely functional. We have thought about changing it up but have realised there is no point as it works so well the way it is. We think a sink is an absolute must. We were even thinking about doing a quick video about this because we also can't believe how many of these new flash set ups people are putting in without a sink... just makes no sense to us. Regarding the grey water, we collect it in a bucket. We carry a 2 collapsable buckets, the second for freshwater for showering or doing the dishes outside which is rare. Cheers P&E

@@fritzintroopy Great, thanks for the reply...I'm doing a fitout now, and have always wanted a sink and running water inside, as I wont be just chasing the fine weather and living outside under the awning. I would never pee in the sink in the middle of a freezing stormy nite tho! 🤫 Seeing the cara sized sink in yours has locked it in for my build too...just gotta work out how to do it so it functions just as well in doors, as it does when I'm out doors....wait, I hear an idea coming on...!

Hey Steve. They are Anko stackable containers from Kmart. The shelves are just aluminum tubing held together with rigid plastic corner prices and stainless steel shelves. Very simple stuff. www.kmart.com.au/product/stackable-container-with-lid-large/2487314

They look a bit ugly on the outside..... I don't like the top... less streamlines, more drag and more noisy.

how did you mount the compressor under the front seats?
@fritzintroopy
@fritzintroopy 3 жыл бұрын
It was done by the previous owner. Its a single chamber ARB unit and it just fits. I'm not sure it was a great idea as it gets quite hot under there especially when its 40C so Ive resorted to running the AC on the feet setting to make sure it doesn't overheat and cut out. It has cut out a few times prior to the AC trick.

Did you buy the Troopy with the standard stock Bridgestone 225/95/r16 or where the B F Goodrich tyres already on it ? If you ran the 225/95 what was your experience with them as far as km is concerned. Just interested, because i can't get more then 35000 km out of them.
@fritzintroopy
@fritzintroopy 5 ай бұрын
You did better than us getting 35k. We did have the Bridgestones but they only lasted 25000 km. They started to crack and chip heavily so changed to BF Goodrich and have done 37000 km so far and they still look good.
