Rewatching this again I love how Joe describes Seven Little Girls as ‘it’s over pretty quickly’ as if he’s discussing a root canal procedure.

Having worked in music for close to 20 years, I've heard my share of bad demos, and that's exactly what Boston's song sounds like. A bad demo. I can only imagine the Artie Fuffkins who had the arduous task of promoting it.

Next year for “March Badness”, I think you guys should consider doing a tournament of the worst artists/bands. Love the content guys!

Just reading the lyrics of Hey Soul Sister, made me laugh out loud. I would say, people like this song only because the tune has a feel good vide.

No excuses for the existence of Hey Soul Sister. Anyone and everyone who likes that song, sang along to that song, paid money to own that song, or voted to save that song in this competition, should pay dearly for their crimes. That said, the mutant child of Fallon and William James Adams Junior is worse.

It is so ironic that you are going to have EW!, as the un-funniest song ever that is supposed to be funny; and If You Were in Love, as the unintentionally funniest song ever; up against each other. I just listened again to the Boston song and laughed hysterically.

American Reckoning should have advanced to the Final Foul. The Boston song is not good; however, it is inoffensively bland - something you might hear in a quickly forgotten off-broadway musical or something like that. American Reckoning is bad on an epic scale. Shockingly bad. The title has nothing to do with the rest of the so-called song and just seems to be randomly stuck on there cuz you got to say SOMETHING. I think you Boys couldn't get over the fact that a once-respected band - Boston - was responsible for a supremely mediocre song. Badness, on the other hand, seems to be expected from Bon Jovi. Other than that, the other choices are fine . . I am glad Liz Phair is gone from this competetion as she shouldn't have been there in the first place. 🤔 Oh . . and congrats on 9K. I must be out of my freaking mind. Ew! has grown on me. I listened to it for pleasure a few times. I marvel at its badness and it amuses me. I think a case can be made for this song winning, but on the other hand, it's a joke song not meant to be taken seriously. It was just tossed off. In that regard, the Boston song seems muuuuuch worse because it WAS meant to be taken seriously.

Boston is a band I have very little use for. Even their first and best album strikes me as mildly enjoyable bland corporate rock at best. So it’s bizarre that I find myself defending their song, If You Were in Love. Sure, it’s nothing great, but one of the worst songs of all time? At worst, it seems like a half-assed stab at going alternative. And I kind of like the weird arrangement. I can think of a shit-ton of much worse songs-several other Ray Stevens tunes, for instance, most anything by Jewel, the idiotic Sister Christian by Night Ranger, most anything by Motley Crue, and on and on.

I gave Train a fair shake back in the Meet Virginia days. Couldn't find enough in two albums to make me a fan, and it kept getting worse. However, I've been taken by surprise with their latest single, AM Gold. It's 👍 .

Surely in the end a terrible song by professional musicians must be worse than the relatively untrained!; the way a bad meal by a highly rated chef is worse than something I might cook at home for myself!

I feel almost proud that Hey Soul Sister 'only' got to number 18 in the UK when it reached number 1 in Australia, Hungary, Ireland and The Netherlands. I finally got to listen to the Bon Jovi song and I spent most of the minute or so I could stomach wondering just how much JBJ wants to be Bruce Springsteen. I think the Boston song could be quite good with vastly better production and mixing but it sounds like it was thrown together by someone with dodgy hearing. Ew! makes me glad that, as a Brit, it is fairly easy to avoid Jimmy Fallon. It is appalling on every level.

Train does not realize they are bad, I assure you. I don't like to listen to them ever but "Hey Soul sister" is at least the best bouncy and catchy of their songs even if one only wants to listen once or twice. Sure it's slightly politically incorrect and messy to some that this white dude loves a black woman in his imagination, i think? "So gangster, I'm so thug You're the only one I'm dreaming of". This deserves to be laughed at or with but put your contempt away. Drops of Juniper is worse and so is Meet Virginia. And Ahab the Arab was supposed to be funny and novel at release and no early reviews worried about the song's insensitivity with the exception of Ben Affleck who wrote how disgusting the song was in a moment of long-lasting guilt over that fact that maybe one of his ancestors owned a slave. A bad thing for Ben, but what does that have to do with you now that you want to hide the fact?

If you think that Toby Keith song is bad, he has many songs just as bad if not worse. Check out I Wanna Talk About Me and Red Solo Cup for example. You could have easily put a bunch of his songs into the tournament. The video for I Wanna Talk About Me is pure cringe and he raps in it. Its so bad.

wow so bad, I judged my votes on how quick I wanted to turn the song off, Train wins that for me and Ewww a close second. To me Ewww doesn't seem worthy enough for the whole badness list of alleged musicians who are on it.

Ew is awful but it's a joke song. Not a very good joke but it wasn't meant to be a proper song. Hey Soul sister is the most pandering, souless pile of dung imaginable but for pure lousy execution from a band who should really know better The Boston song should win.

It looks like Boston has a comfortable lead over Train so far, but I'd like to make a case for Hey Soul Sister. If You Were In Love is truly bad and inexcusable, but it's an album track from an unpopular album that will be heard by no one other than die hard Boston fans who are probably okay with it. Hey Soul Sister, on the other hand, was the top selling song on iTunes in 2010, as well as a Billboard #3 with millions of plays worldwide and has been used in TV shows and commercials. If we don't do what we can to stop this madness, this awful tune will someday be regarded as representative of the music of the 2000's and 2010's. I urge anyone who hasn't already voted to cast a vote for Train! Personal Note: My hatred for this song stems in part from the fact that in 2010 I could not escape it at work, where a coworkers radio played it 2-3 times a day, 5 days a week, for months on end!
