In this episode of Urban Exploring, I will be taking you for a tour through this INCREDIBLE time capsule home, abandoned now for nearly 44 years! Located far north of the city, away from the hustle and bustle, this quaint home, is located on a beautiful isolated piece of land, with a beautiful backyard pond, and a natural background that could resemble a painting. Once built as a couple's dream home, this place now sits forgotten and untouched for decades after the death of the husband. The home is now decayed and in complete disarray with a lifetime of belongings left behind, including a massive model train set! You do not want to miss this explore, grab your popcorn and jump on in!
I explored this location with ‪@NoahNowhere‬ , make sure to check him out and subscribe if you have not!

Sucessful intellectual types, likely a teacher or better yet, a college professor who vacationed every whole summer when school was out. The calendar and the sale circular show 2016 but most everything else in the house looks like they stepped out in 1980. The home itself appears to be about 1955-60. Thanks for the tour Greg! 👍🤠 Notes: 7:52 The letter: "March 4, 1983 Dear Edwina, Hi, I received your letter just this week and I want to thank you for it. It was so good to hear from you again, I think of you often and pray for you daily and was wondering how you were doing. Well, school will soon be finished. I will be graduating on May 2. My studies are going well. This last" (End of page) 14:55 Appears to be about second half of the 60's. 17:04 I'm sure this is a one of a kind high school metalshop project, I'd love to have it even though it looks kinda ridiculous. 28:44 Like I said, he was an intellectual type. 30:26 Nice parties way back in the day I'm sure, I can almost picture Edwina losing her wig while vigorously dancing the twist after one too many. 35:36 Much worse condition than other explores I've seen, kinda looks like Godzilla took a stroll. 36:11 Godzilla was a wino.

Hey John, thanks for this awesome summary like usual. Yeah I think you're right, the house is likely a late 50s/early 60s project that maybe never was really finished until the 70s. It's crazy to think it's sat for around 44 years.. Thank you for being part of this journey with me! I appreciate you very much!!

That night in shining armour is tacky but kind of cool to see and an abandoned house and the clothes are really dated, but surprisingly in great shape. ❤️the 🐸 on the coffee table. Old 45‘s and Remember When everybody had those telephone tables. Nice piano too. Strawberry hot chocolate stuff. I can’t believe all the dishes are still there. It’s like they left and never came home. Love that green mixer. Photo albums always make me sad because somebody obviously want to take them. Some interesting wallpaper, which looked really good, but tacky romance novels. The wallpaper is cute in the bathroom, but does not match the tiles. Stop Checking for brown bombers.😂 I like the tile table the hairdressing dryer thing sits on. The bowties are so cute. Very nice fireplaces upstairs and in the basement. Really like the bar sink. Of course you were not wearing a mask in that mould basement. But seem to have a train track in the basement. The same thing with stars with nails, etc., in them. Very practical. Basement that never ends. I see you wore a respirator. As always, I enjoyed this video very much except for the brown bomber and all that mold, which makes me itchy.

Very interesting taste in decor! Nothing matches anything. The carpet doesn’t match the drapes and the walls don’t match the tile. It’s like they found stuff on the side of the road that was trash and decorated their house with it 😱 Complements on the actual filming and narrative. Great video!

At 32 min. when you see the beer labels reminds me; in the late 80's I tried Labatt's IPA and loved it ! But lagers sell better and they stopped making it. I think maybe after her husband died she could not deal with the stuff in the house; could not face it. Maybe someone intended to but no one did.

Hey Munro! glad you saw this one! yeah those beer labels do have that old school feel to them don't they? It reminds me of a house where one spouse died. Probably the husband since there is so little male clothing. Maybe the wife lived there by herself until she wasn't able to live independently or she may have passed away and none of their kids wanted anything to do with the house. They may not have had children. If somebody wanted a spacious country home and could do all the work remodeling it themselves, it would be a really nice home.

Hey Gene thank you for watching and leaving the comment. Your guess is pretty accurate. From what I understand, the husband built it with his first wife. She left him and he remarried, then passed away and the new wife moved back to the States. That's the story on other channels anyways. Seems plausible to me. Still has the dishes left 😮 wHatever that type of machine above the stove reminds me of like a toaster oven. Still all those spices 😯 ok the Fridge is all cleaned out someone had to do it why did they leave everything else there??? I just noticed that cool light fixture behind that knight. My glass doorknob ❤ All those clothes just left behind to decay why??? I used to have one of those quilts 😂😂 Love that wood detail on the dressar. That orange carpet shag 😂 Wow those artworks in the basement😮 That fireplace❤ neat ceiling and wall back there. Pooh bear chair. That very colorful mat you called psychedelic my grams had her kitchen chairs exactly like that haha 😂 that old suitcase is nice! WOW is all I can say 😯 😮 that stove. Hey Catherine! I liked that outdoor kitchen/bbq area, definitely cool.. I was wondering about that pond. I'm willing to guess there probably are some there, but nothing worth catching to eat. The piano definitely deserved a better fate, didn't it? The kitchen was crazy full, I was surprised at that to be honest.. My understanding is the man that lived here was married to a women when they first built this place, then they divorced and he continued to live here, eventually with a new wife.. When he passed ,she left and went back home to the USA, hence why the clothes and everything are left behind.. Is it a true story? I don't know, but it sounds plausible to me. I always love to see and hear from viewers about items they remember in their life.. I've seen a few in places that I grew up with, and its a very cool nostalgic feeling.. I am really glad you watched every video, thank you so much for doing that.. I hope you will join us for premieres now that you're caught up!

Love the yellow/wooden furniture in the living room, the red twisted candles are wonderful! (Reminds me of the old Nancy Drew book (I have it!!!) The Sign of the Twisted Candles (1933). Unfortunately, twisted candles are not made anywhere anymore! Why, why and why... they are so great! All the bamboo is super, the room divider into the dining area, the bamboo curtains and the photo of the man on the dining room table is James Last. Wonderful orchestral leader from the 1960/70's from Germany. I have his Christmas Dancing LP on my D-drive (saved!) Gorgeous!! Whew! The additional room off the dining area would have been lovely! Nice glass of Port, someone playing the piano, soft lighting and all the windows looking outside on a beautiful evening in the summer at dusk (on a Saturday) Let's GO! Right NOW! Not to mention the green drapes. How to decorate around those babies!!?? The green mixer in the kitchen cupboard, right out of the 1970s. I do remember trays, just like we briefly saw, in the kitchen near the old Moffat Fiesta oven (underneath), so retro. This is a great "retro" find with the potential to bring back memories for your viewers - for sure! Okay Greg, the Harlequin Presents books made me laugh!! My father's second wife read those all the time way back in the 1970s and my father called them, "her funny little books" and threw them out on her. They are total garbage and should never have been sold. Fortunately, she stopped reading them! In the first bedroom the "quilt" on the bed is actually a crocheted Afghan and the drawer fronts in the second room are a fake wood plastic veneer - that was a 70s thing for dressers. The suit of armor is pretty bad! My father built a suit of armor (1978 in London, ON) out of duct piping, 6 feet tall with a movable visor, big long pole axe and a Scotch kilt (the clan colors of my family too boot!) At 21:07 in your video, in the office, "I was once lost, but now I am found" is from the Bible Luke 15:32 a reference to the return of the prodigal son. Finally, the smoked mirrors in the last blue bathroom (apartment) I still love to this day! They are so great to look at and work around. We are SOOOO boring these days!

You're right, that place would have had a fantastic view in the summer evenings, it would have been DREAMY to be at right?? I never heard of the harlequin books before, I am now learning that I should have known better hahaha. So your father had a better suit of armor then? @@UncappedFilms faint noises that sound like they could be gunshots, dogs barking from a distance, and what sounds like voices murmuring. Mostly in the first half of the video.

That's interesting. I mean you could be hearing the other guys that were with me in the house. Do you have any time stamps I can check??

The sounds are all through the video so I just listed some of them. Please keep in mind that I watched this video late at night, when it was extremely silent so I may have just been hypersensitive to noises that your microphone was picking up. I am not trying to suggest that there was anything paranormal going on, but I was focusing more on all the background noise instead of what you were saying. It's very possible that normal sounds were being picked up of you and whoever was with you moving around, and just sounded distorted and like they were coming from a distance. I'm not going to try to list them all because in rewatching the video, there were so many of them I just decided to list some of the louder ones. The cracking noises that sounded at times like distant gunshots were numerous but 2 of the louder ones were at 5:00 and 7:21. At 9:10 there is a clattering sound. It happened a couple of times before that but the one at 9:10 was pretty loud. 2 of the times that sounded like murmuring voices were at 3:50 and 7:35. At 9:24, 9:35, 10:20, and 10:58 it sounds like faint sounds of dogs barking. That's why I started thinking maybe the noises were some people out in the woods training their hunting dogs or something. I watch these abandoned house videos all the time and this was the first time I can remember being so distracted by the background noise that I couldn't actually concentrate on the video itself. Curious to know if your ears pick up the same sounds that I time stamped and if so, what you think they are. You definitely have a good microphone so maybe my ears were just distorting the sounds it was picking up. Thank you for your time.

@@firefly6027 ohh this is tough one for me. Noah was in the house so you might be hearing him at points. but what you're also hearing is my respirator making all sorts of sounds too. I dont hear the dogs barking.. the mics are good though and i use the raw audio, i wonder if others hear that!
