www.vladtv.com - Noted DJ and producer A-Trak spoke exclusively with VladTV on celebrity DJ's and how dance music has helped inspire the next wave of DJ's. A-Trak, who won over Kanye West with his impeccable scratching skills has a long history with the art since he was 15 years old. After winning major DJ competitions like the DMC and Vestax, the A-Trak went on to tour with Kanye West and continue his art through various groups like Duck Sauce and his latest project with Cam'ron.
With the producer coming a long way in the game, he doesn't have much to say about celebrity DJ's like Paris Hilton, Solange Knowles and socialites who are paid generously to spin.
"If there's people that want to see or hear that, that's her [Paris] hustle," he said. "I think it's important for the universe to balance out. As long as there's guys on the other end that are keeping real DJ'ing alive, and fans can really choose what they want to see and hear [and] there's an education process where people can tell the difference between the two then that's all that matters to me."

The good old days. We used to go out at the weekend and all of us had a bag of records in the boot. Usually ended up at a rave in a field or a house party then blag it on the decks. Good times.

JungleTunes94 That's whats up, I was just telling kids how there has not been a real rave in the US in ten years. Now you got people like Gaga trying to rep. raves all of a sudden and there is "EDM" LOL.

I remember seeing him and DJ Craze at a little party in my hometown when he was like 17 and at the Vestax Championships in LA. Before all the bullshit cd turntables and all that were out you had to have real skills. Its too bad real turntabalism has been falling off just like real mc's have been. Peace to the Beat Junkies, Q-Bert etc. etc.

Love from BC, A-Trak!! Can't wait to see you at home! This "white" dude cut his teeth with Hip-hop and Rap! Read the bio you fools! The entire DJ game is wide the fuck open for anyone who wants to make some quick cash...I know people making money DJing and they have literally never owned a record in their entire life. Especially with so many people being broke these days, if you post a DJ ad on Craigslist to do parties, weddings, etc. etc. you can charge $30-$50 an hour and you'll be booked every single weekend. If there are colleges in your town you can be booked every night of the week.

It's only a few real dj's who really love the art and really know how to dj, with all the technology you don't need to know much of any knowledge to dj the PC does everything for you

Trufh Boof nice racist ignorance there bro. Check who owns most of the companies that create 95% of DJ equipment.

Trufh Boof You have some serious insecurity issues bro. Though you're right, most of the DJ equipment is created by Oriental companies though if it wasn't for Thomas Edison where would we be? Herc, Flash, Theodore played a role in birthing Hip Hop, but turntables are used for so much more than just hip hop nowadays.
