A Travelogue to the second highest peak of Kerala with Dr.S.Mahesh | The wonders of Agasthyarkoodam

Agasthyarkoodam is a 1,868-metre (6,129 ft)-tall peak of the Pothigai mountain range of Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the Western Ghats of South India. The peak lies on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. This peak is a part of the Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve Agasthyamala Biosphere Reserve is among 20 new sites added by UNESCO to its World Network of Biosphere Reserves in March 2016. The International Co-ordinating Council added the new sites during a two-day meeting on 19 March 2016 in Lima, bringing the total number of biosphere reserves to 669 sites in 120 countries, including 16 transboundary sites. Agasthyarkoodam is a pilgrimage centre for devotees of the Hindu sage Agastya, who is considered to be one of the seven rishis (Saptarishi) of Hindu Puranas. In Tamil traditions, Agastya is considered as the father of the Tamil language and the compiler of the first Tamil grammar called Agattiyam or Akattiyam and also the Malayalam language is considered to be born from Agasthya.

എൻ്റെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട കവിതകളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് അഗസ്ത്യ ഹ്യദയം. ആ ചരിത്രം തേടിയുള്ള യാത്രയാണ് ഒടുവിൽ ഇവിടെത്തിച്ചെ. അടുത്ത ലീവിന് നാട്ടിൽ എത്തുമ്പോൾ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സ്വപ്നം അത് ഈ സ്വർഗത്തിലേക്ക് തന്നെ.. ഒരായിരം നന്ദി🙏

1978 മുതൽ 1998 വരെയുള്ള കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ 12 തവണ അഗസ്ത്യന്റെ നെറുകയിലെത്താനുള്ള ഭാഗ്യമുണ്ടായി .നിയന്ത്രണങ്ങൾ വന്ന ശേഷം പോകാൻ തോന്നിയില്ല .എന്ത് തന്നെയായാലും അഗസ്ത്യ മല ഗ്രേറ്റ് തന്നെയാണ്

നല്ല വിവരണം. ഞാൻ രണ്ട് തവണ പോയി 2001 ൽ 2005 ൽ 100 രൂപ പാസിൽ. ഇന്ന് ഒരു പാട് നിയന്ത്രണം. ഇത്തവണ ഞാനും ഭഗവാനെ കാണാൻ പോകുന്നു.

Nice. The music could have been less louder. As I went through the video, I remembered the trips we have undertaken to this peak in the 80s. I want to share a little bit of those so that you will know how it was in those days. We used to plan our trip in such a way that we will be in the peak on the full moon day in the Jan- Feb months. We used to enter the forest through the Bona-card Estate. Spend the first night at the big Waterfalls. Second night at Pongalapara. Third morning reach the peak. For the final climb it will be by crawling all the way. The feeling you get on reaching the peak cannot expressed in words. Such a wonderful feeling. Thanks for sharing your experience. PV

എന്റെ കുട്ടിക്കാലത്ത് സഹോദരനും കൂട്ടുകാരും അഗസ്ത്യമലയിൽ രണ്ട്മൂന്ന്തവണപോയത്ഓർമ്മവരുന്നു.നാല്പതുവർഷങ്ങൾക്ക്മൻപ്.വളരെതളർന്നാവും വരിക.ചെരിപ്പൊന്നും ഇടാതുള്ള ആയാത്റ കഴിഞ്ഞ് വരുന്പോൾ കാലിനൊക്കെ ചെറിയ പരിക്കുകളൊക്കെ ഉണ്ടാവുമെന്കിലും അണ്ണന്റെ മുഖത്തെ സന്തോഷം കാണേണ്ടത് തന്നെയായിരുന്നു.

ഇതുപോലുള്ള വീടൊയോസ് കാണുന്നത് പ്രധാനമായും ആ സ്ഥലം എങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ട്.. എങ്ങനെ എത്തി ചേരാം.. ഗവൺമന്റ് റൂൾസ്/ഫീസ് ഇതൊക്കെ അറിയാൻ ആണ്.. ഇതൊന്നും ഇതിൽ ഇല്ല. But video നന്നായിട്ടുണ്ട് ❤

ഇത്തവണ എനിക്കും പോകാനുള്ള ഭാഗ്യം ഉണ്ടായി. ഇതിനു മുൻപ് നാല് തവണ ടിക്കറ്റ് ബുക്ക് ചെയ്യാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടും കിട്ടിയിരുന്നില്ല. നമ്മൾ എല്ലാവരും ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും പോയിരിക്കേണ്ട സ്ഥലം ആണ് അഗസ്ത്യാര്കൂടം. നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ ഫോട്ടോ എടുക്കാൻ ഇത്രയും നല്ല സ്ഥലം വേറെ ഇല്ല 😀
