Justine and her tortures were inspired by the works of Marquis de Sade, a libertine whose namesake became the word “Sadistic.” She’s based off of the character from his novel Justine, who tortures and humiliates countless innocent people in really disturbing / sexual ways. Amnesia’s DLC is sort of a “what if” scenario where Justine’s consequences catch up with her.

Wrong, that's Juliette who was sadistic. Justine in his works is quite the opposite - always suffering because of her chasity and good nature. So it's more of a ironic nameswap instead of a reference.

Rage can do that to you, also they aren't horribly amaciated yet when this occurs, you can see their collarbones but their bottom rows of ribs aren't as defined. They also still have a bit of muscle on their arms and legs.

this is one of the best free DLCs a game has ever gotten IMO. scarier situations and setting than the base game itself, and does something the base game didn't do often, which is force you to complete tasks under the threat of an enemy.

Great to see this game get attention and love, even over a decade after it's release. The game and it's world holds a special place in my heart, but Justine is something I haven't got myself to complete. I find the suitors most terrifying out of all the monsters, just for the reason that they're still sentient human beings. Grunts and Brutes I've always seen as sort of zombies, devoid of their humanity, but hearing the suitors call out to Justine with their raw emotions is just a chilling experience. The pleading Alois, the rightfully furious Basille, and Malo, who's devoid of any sanity. It's just so heartbreaking to see what they've become, all from the hand of Justine. I really wish there'd be a way to free these people from their misery, none of them deserve a fate this horrible.

I've always wondered if the reason the suitors were so strong despite being emaciated was because of vitae flowing in their bodies from being tortured.

well, Justine lived far away from Brennenburg and probably did not even know Alexander or of the Alchemy he conducted, so I believe it´s unlikely I think their strength simply comes from them being so unhinged and Justine being a woman of nobility, who probably did not indulge in physical labor or all that many activities that would grant her resilience that an a bit of horror-game-logic

In my opinion, all amnesia monsters look freaking silly, I can't take the grunt serious and the brute looks like it has a flower on its head hahaha, but the suitors were terrifying and they were my favorite enemies in the franchise, even after rebirth. The ghouls looked like wendigos, and they werent even there for most of the time. But after seeing the beast of the bunker, my opinion was already sealed. The beast is the most terrifying monster imo. It just seems like the beast could rip all of the other enemies apart (probably can)

my guess is, that it´s to accommodate for a likely a physical difference between Daniel and Justine now while I imagine neither of the two being martial artists or anything I suppose Daniel having been on that long trip to Algeria and having partaken in all those torture sessions, might be in slightly better physical shape then Justine, who seems to have stayed at home for the most part

i wonder if we will ever get a DLC of justine, i would imagine it would be possibly as one of the suitors, whom have come to their senses, and calmed one another down, and secretly went against justine to stop her, and we could select if we want to continue pursuing justine as the chosen one, or go for subduing her, and getting her behind bars

Where do you find the animations of monsters? I tried to remove them from the base folder of the game but they don't work for me

the animation files are stored in the enemy subfolder under "entities"

@@umukzusgelos4834 Yes, I had found that, but to make it work in blender I had to change the file extension from .dae_anim to .dae... Likewise, the monster model bugs a little, but it is not very serious. Thank you anyway

@@EternalEmperorofZakuul that´s an interesting thought, though chances are things might get swept under the rug if she is ever discovered but considering a missing priest, policeman and private investigator might arouse suspicion so I´m not sure what would become of Justine in the end, though it would make for some shocking headlines to be sure
