With "The Low End Theory", "Midnight Marauders" and "People's Instinctive Travels...", A Tribe Called Quest have had an undeniable impact in the development of hip-hop. Their seminal hits such as "Bonita Applebum" and "Electric Relaxation" sampled tracks from the likes of Ronnie Foster and Cannonball Adderley, and later inspired rappers of today, such as, Kendrick Lamar and Kanye West. Let's take a closer look.

Your research and presentation in this video is solid. I love hearing the source samples of hip-hop songs I've been listening to for literally decades, thank you for creating this underrated piece.

Midnight Marauders and Low End Theory are probably two of the best albums ever made both those albums are some of the few hip hop/rap albums where I listen to the whole album not just a few songs.

Even the way The Low End Theory album was mixed and mastered, sonically it's used as a measuring stick to master a hiphop album from the way certain samples and instruments play and how they hit your eardrums. Midnight Marauders expand on it more.

And it’s crazy how We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service sounds so completely different from tribes previous 5 albums, but still has that instantly recognizable Tribe Called Quest sound. Genuinly the Goats of Rap

I agree. Their first album was great but very slow and raw, but Low End Mauraders were incredible, their flow and polish was unmatched.

This just popped up in my recommendations and I'm so glad it did. You've edited this in such an engaging manner and it's an extremely insightful look into ATCQ's history of sampling and how they were the true pioneers of Jazz Rap. Their influence and legacy are still felt in the Rap community today with people like Kendrick and J. Cole and it's nice that Q-Tip acknowledges that on their last album.

Anything tribe related I’m clicking on it! ATCQ is my favorite group of all time and you killed this! What I love most about them is how hard they went against the grain at the time and just believed in their skills! #RIPPhifeDiggyDog!

Your videoes are incredible, being foreign and growing up with experimental hiphop from a very young age has caused me to fall in love with it, but growing up with foreign parents that spoke fluent English in Denmark has made it much easier for me to deep lyrics, research and so on, but yet it's hard to know much about their backstory, samples and etc. You make artists much more interesting, and the production value on these analysis' are beyond perfect. The graphics are so nice, switching between grained cutouts and other elements creates it perfectly. And as the cherry on top your voice and accent makes it so soothing. Found your channel a few days ago, and saw you haven't uploaded in a while. Trust me, I'm definitely not the only one wanting more, because you will really make it big when you feel like it. I've dealt with a lot of sh*t in my childhood, and it's understandable if you need some time off etc. Just do what you feel like, don't let anyone change your unique style, and any hate is from people knowing they can't amount to your level. Love the content, keep it up.

These kids will never know. And the sad part is because of the way the industry is structured they couldn't afford to know. Boom bap is too expensive to make because of the samples.

This video was dope. If anyone wants to read more about Tribe and their legacy, I'd recommend a book called "Go Ahead in the Rain: Notes to A Tribe Called Quest," by Hanif Abdurraqib. It was an assigned reading in an American Studies class I took and quickly became one of my favorite books ever.

I know you already did a video on Wu-Tang but I think a video focusing on their solo ventures or other groups (like RZA in gravediggaz) could be really interesting.

Really hope you didn’t give up KZfaq. I was just recommenced one of your videos, and found your channel on my homepage. You need to keep going until the algorithm hooks onto your channel. When I saw your subscriber count and the quality of your videos, I honestly thought at first this channel was just stealing videos from esteemed channels with millions of subs. You need to stick to it: the editing you’re doing and time and care you’re putting into each video WILL pay off.
