Hello and thank you for watching.
Tonight, I’d like to focus on Doug Henning.
Doug inspired me like no other magician before or since.
I love his attitude and I love his style.
He stared in The Magic Show on Broadway and in 7 World of Magic television specials.
He arguably opened the door for David Copperfield.
He changed the way magic is perceived.
He ushered in the new golden age.

I remember watching Doug on TV in the early 80's when I was a kid. I'm glad he had a successful Broadway run. A shame he passed at such a young age. He seemed like a nice guy.

First of all, thank you David for your tribute to the legendary Doug Henning. For me growing up Mark Wilson and Doug Henning were the two Magicians who totally defined the Joy and Wonder of Magic. When I first saw Doug perform on the tonight show with Johnny Carson he was promoting his very first TV special. And I remember falling in love with magic for the 1st time. Doug always looked just as surprised and amazed as his audience. He truly was a special person to me. ..As long as I live Doug Henning will always be remembered and never forgotten.

This was an incredible walk down memory lane. Doug was fantastic and brought a breath of fresh air to magic. His sense of wonder that magic is real and its all around us stuck in my brain. He is so missed by people like us who gotta see this incredible performer. 😊❤😊👍👍🤜🤛

I am a fan of a great many magicians. In fact there are probably few magicians past and present I am not a fan of but Doug was very special and if I had to choose just one all-time favorite it could well be Doug

I was initiated by the Marahishi when I was 6 years old in 1968, when he visited Lake Louise. I've used my mantra on and off for 54 years, with great results. Takes time.

Fantastic. This is awesome content and I wish more people would do stuff like this. Doug was really special. I was born when he was famous but I got to see and remember a little bit in the mid-1980s when he gave a Dodge van commercial. Anyway, he was a fantastic spirit and still is!

Watched your wonderfull video again. I first met Doug in the late1960's through my neighbor Micky Hades. Doug generously gave me some of his close up props I later use in my magiic in the park in different Canadian Cities. I also canvassed for The Natural Law party in the 90's here in Calgary. I was initiated into TM by the Marahishi when I was 8 years old at Lake Louise. I highly recommend to everyone Doug's autobiography SPELLBOUND, it's a wealth of information that answered alot ot questions I had for years. Please do more on Doug!

I never saw him live but I never missed a chance to see him on TV in both specials and appearances.

Thank you again David. Even though there was 14 years between us Doug and I talked mostly about eastern religion and meditation. He would have loved 'The Peacefull Warrior' movie based on Dan Millman's book I still do occasional park magic in Historical Confederation Park here in Calgary I always do Doug's small mirror closeup work with cards, balls, and coins.

There's a short video anout Confederation Park on You Tube made by Calgary Parks. It's essentially a coolie used as part of northwest Calgary's flood water runoff system. Similar to a really bigJapanese Garden with 5 species of willow growing there.

Thank you, great video. I grew up in Calgary, my back alley neighbours were Mickey Hades and his wife Marilyn'. I learned alot of closeup from Doug,, he even gavee me some of his. Doug whould not like "Criss Angel Magic with the Stars!" especially the water tank escapes on last weeks episode!

The cheezy Chris Angel Magic with the Stars is good as a special, but alot of that stuff I was doing at 12 years old. I took what I learned from Micky Hades and did magic in urban parks in different cities in Canada. Magic out in the open!!

Greg Wilson mentioned it was first his father Mark Wilson then Douglas James Henning

Mark Wilson was a pioneer of magic on television and his show preceded Doug's that is true.
