Closing the Fourth Conference of the Arab Council for the Social Sciences, this plenary session is the culmination of the Hanna Batatu Lecture Series, organized by the Arab Council for Social Sciences over the past four years to honor the late historian and political scientist, Hanna Batatu. It includes an overview of the three previous lectures given respectively by Dr. Salim Tamari, Dr. Dina Rizk Khoury, and Dr. Thabit Abdullah, each reflecting on the work of Batatu, followed by a discussion by Dr. Haider Saeed and a testimony by Dr. Bassam Haddad, both former students of Batatu’s.
