@@jon7707 I'm a bit late, and no offence, but I don't think that's what Techno would have wanted at all. Technoblade definitely changed my life and even how I see and play Minecraft, but he would definitely not have wanted people to stop playing Minecraft after he died. He would have wanted us to keep playing, even though he is gone. Rather than seeing the King of Minecraft leave us and thinking that Minecraft is dead, see the King of Minecraft leave us and accept that he has changed Minecraft forever, for the better, and that we should keep playing Minecraft, not only for ourselves, but also to remember and commemorate the amazing times we had watching him. Techno's death should make us embrace Minecraft even more. It should make us feel even more interested in the game. Because it's moments like those that make Minecraft so brilliant: the feeling of joy when you finally finish building something awesome with your friends, or the first time you beat the Ender Dragon, or that feeling when you're playing in a Minecraft world and one of the songs starts playing and you just sit there listening, or the laughs and joy we get from watching KZfaqrs like Techno and all the others, and even the intense sadness we all felt after Techno passed. All of that is what makes Minecraft Minecraft. It's what makes Minecraft such a masterpiece, and why I keep coming back to it. I don't care if it's 'dying'. I don't care if there's some new video game taking over the gaming world, or even if there's some new Minecraft update adding some new feature. Minecraft, and the people who made Minecraft alive, people like Techno, have been some of the biggest factors in my entire life. Minecraft for me will always be a game which is at the same time simple, powerful, and emotional, because it's gotten me through tough times, and it's given me some of my best memories. Anyway, I'm sorry to get all emotional and to write for so long. PS I'm not trying to say that your opinions wrong or anything, sorry if it sounds like that. I'm just giving my thoughts.

I hope schlatt never stops making content like this, or his defeating the ender dragon on smp live, or his weeklyslap. It's so easy to get blind sighted by the bad parts of life and become jaded... but I hope people like schlatt, artists, know that they create art with real value that evokes raw, visceral emotions from their audience, and that that's not just a fluke or something to be brushed aside, but valued and treasured for the rest of our lives. In many ways, it shapes us, and how we perceive the world... literally generation defining

He’s got a fuck ton if money cause all of his podcasts and energy drink company, he could 1000% afford to make an effortfull, fulfilling video in between the tik tok ones. I come back here to this video in 2024. 1 day away from it being the 6th year year anniversary of this video at 3:21 AM. I watch this video at least once a year. Its always makes me cry, it makes me remember my childhood. I'm 19 now going to turn 20 this year. I don't know how to thank you for everything you have done for me. You will never meet me. You will never know of me, but I think I can say for most of us we can't thank you enough. JSchlatt, you saved me for a place of darkness which I hope to never be in again. You made my life happier. Everything we have been through as a community. From SMP Live to now u being yourself. I'm here crying, seeing my childhood go past my eyes. From SDMC to Ssundee to JSchlatt. My childhood will never be different and I thank you for giving us this video which makes me feel like in 10, playing video games, watching YT, and no pressure on my life. This year after i turn 20 I will be going to college, by my self for the first time in my life. But the one thing that I will always have is your videos. damn. this video is so strong. it’s almost a sucker punch. i’ll always remember my old 360 worlds, even my pocket edition world from when i was like 7. Minecraft is definitely my favorite game of all time, and a lot of that definitely has to do with the time i spent playing as a kid. i love this game so much, and thanks for reminding me why i liked it so much in the first place

For a moment i felt really bad about the fact that i dont think i have my old xbox with my old worlds on it anymore, but then i realized i dont need it to remember those first worlds. I spent so many hours building, and so many school days waiting to get home so i could finish a mine with my best friends, i cared so deeply about all the worlds i played on growing up, that i think i actually vividly remember every world that i was worried about losing. I loved every world and that world was mine, it was on my mind 24/7, it always has been and ill always hear the minecraft soundtrack and practically feel the controller back in my hands, i can see the world so clearly i think i could actually rebuild it. Thats the kind of game that minecraft is, when im old and cant remember anything else, i know that when mice on venus plays ill still remember those worlds. No matter how long i go for without playing minecraft, no matter how much the game evolves, its still the greatest game of all time for me.

I just watched Tommy’s video and I saw your video that he mentioned so after I had watched that I’m now watching this, I can’t believe my favorite KZfaqrs played on the same thing I did back then, I remember playing with my siblings for hours on end on minecraft on the Xbox 360, I’ve made so many memories on there and to this day me and one of my brothers still play it almost every day on a realm with my brothers friends, I wish one day I could be as cool as you, but I probably won’t be lol. I’m sad that now everything is changing, especially this year like my sister is going to college 11 hours away, my older brother is almost always playing with his friends, we are starting to talk again, and my uncle passed away from cancer about a week before technoblade passed, now one of my other uncles has cancer, more cancer then he did a few years ago. I remember all the fun times I’ve had with my family, I wish nothing could change, but things change, people grow up, but that stuff still happens, thank you for being a influencer for all of these people, you really helped me through the sad times, thank you Jschlatt.

I remember seeing this at a low point in my life. I just started coming out to my family, school was hell, and I felt lonely. After I saw this I think in 2019 I started getting back into minecraft, and I started making new friends and regaining connections with old ones. It still had that feeling of unknown to me, and now looking back on it. I'm glad that I watched this video it wasn't life changing but it oddly helped me

I watched this video when it first came out, or soon after at the beginning of the first lockdown in my province. It not only kicked off a 3-month long Minecraft binge session (50+ hours a week) but gave a much deeper appreciation for the music. I started studying almost exculiselvy to the sound track, but would return to this video if I felt I needed a bit of narration. When this vid first dropped when I was in grade 11, I felt unsure of myself and had no idea where I wanted to go with my life. I took theatre instead of chemistry because I thought it would be more aligned with my future, but I was growing to hate it more and more, and felt like I made a huge mistake. Now I’m sitting here, in my 3rd year of a biology undergrad, procrastinating writing my procedure for my organic chem 2 lab lol. It’s nuts to me that my life has taken a 180, but I’ve never been more self assured. Coming back to this video not only fills me with nostalgia for the game, but for an earlier time in my life. I can link back the countless hours of studying to the MC soundtrack to THIS video. The music that’s calmed me, motivated me and has been a sound track to my academic journey/achivements for the past 5 years. Thank you Schaltt ❤

this video is coming up on its 6 year anniversary at the time i rewatched it. sitting at home, alone, watching this video, i realize how much i took my childhood for granted, i wish i could go back to when things were simple, where i didnt have to worry about getting to work on time or stressing over my college assignments. i started playing minecraft in elementary school and i still play it to this day, but it doesnt have the same charm anymore. if i had a time machine i would go back just to relive that time period of my life. i know this video is vastly different to what schlatt does now but i appreciate it nonetheless. thanks, big guy

Yesterday, a part of me died. I had thought, for fun, I would check out my first ever world I made with my friends that I had made in primary school. I hadn’t talked to them in 4 years as we all have gone our separate ways since then. I remembered it all. The stupidity of all of us getting killed by falling gravel and jumping down holes we judged poorly. I realised that this was where I had an imagination. Though I may have forgotten parts of my world existed, it was the backbone to my love for the game. Then I realised, me and my friends had made a wall of signs, like a diary of what needed to be done or corrected. The last sign left was: ‘Just a few more cobblestone and our home is done!’ I never played on from that. We never did. We never fully finished it. And for that, I realised that I would probably have to finish it alone. I still have friends today that play this game with me, but forever I will treasure what memories had come before. Thank you Schlatt for making me realise how much this game means to me. Thank you for your story and helping me express my own.

brings me back to to when i was young, coming home from school, throwing my backpack down by the door, and rushing to the living room to turn on the Xbox 360. Fighting over who would be first player with my brother, and always end up being second. spending hours to be so haply with the small home i built. always having so many dogs, and a room for everything. those simple days, where you didnt need to focus on other complex things. im older now and play on pc with the new versions, always on calls with friends and creating something new each day. to one day walking upstairs in our new house and hearing the sound of a piano playing, and a cow mooing. i checked the other room and there sat my brother. playing on our first world together. and seeing him cry for the first time in 11 years. i walked over to a box and pulled out the other controller, logging in, and playing the game. i have always had a hard time with memory but nostalgic memories just flooded threw. tears began to roll down my face as we looked around in silence, opening chests and seeing nothing moved. walking into our first portal and seeing almost nothing there because we were too scared to enter it. my brother is the one who showed me the game and helped me learn how to play it. i will never be happier in life then the simple moments with an Xbox, a controller, and a brother. Thank you.

Exactly. As much as I admire people like the Hermitcraft group, it's just not fun for me to watch. I love watching someome just play Minecraft. Learning things, experimenting. Asking "can you put it in a bucket?", because hey, you never know what Minecraft will hold. Watching someone desperately fight off a surprise raid. Seeing him try to figure put the complicated mechanics of redstone, brewing, and enchanting. Bring around his dog and horse for no real reason other than that he cares about them. Just messing around, having fun, and learning.

Yeah, seems like 2018 was a sort of golden era for Schlatt. I remember being on one of his OpenTTD streams and hearing him talk about all his future video plans. Just a couple of days later is when he streamed SMPLive. It's kinda bitter-sweet seeing his success, but also knowing that we'll probably never get to see any of those videos come to fruition.

i never cry during video on youtube, but man, the last things he said, the music, it got me teared up in my bed wtf, wow, i really now miss the old minecraft, but at the same time i love the new one, i just loved the old 360 version, i kinda wish we could just go back, even if i dont know any of my best friends at the moment, even if at that time i had no friends, i loved this time, i had fun with playing alone, now that i have friends and that the game is just, so complex and in a way, so easy, i just have way less fun playing alone, i loved the thrill of surviving the first night, i loved building simple houses and bases, all those memories wouldnt be real if it wasnt for my uncle letting me use his xbox 360

When you revisited your old world and mentioned the house built by an old friend that you haven't spoken to for a while, that hit me. I've had so many worlds on the 360 that had contributions from people who I was friends with, but I'll probably never talk to them or even see them again. One of those memories was a world on the 360 with a friend who I knew for so many years. I haven't talked nor seen him in a couple of years because we just drifted apart. He changed; I changed. The world has so much to explore, and we even did roleplay in it. We built structures, created a story that him and I will remember, and just had fun and created meaningful memories together. We built a large computer, a huge mansion which we both shared made of riches turned into blocks (Diamond, gold, iron, etc.), we created a dude who I think one of our allies and sat in a huge chair and he told us to blow him up (very goofy), we even incorporated these googly eye glasses into our world that were in a huge toy box, but we blew that up and recreated those glasses near our home. I haven't been in that world for so long, and maybe, just maybe, one day we'll come back and revisit those memories, finish our structures, finish what we started all those years ago.

I long for the happiness of my childhood and all of the friends I made along the way. The people, the music, the culture; I miss it all. I was brought to tears when I remembered coming home from school and hopping on Minecraft. The sweet melodies and other ambient sounds brought me into a world where nothing mattered. Life only got harder and harder. I'm glad I had good memories in the past. God, I miss the old days so much. Playing Minecraft went from cool to weird and back to cool again. I never really experienced nostalgia until I watched this video and was thrust back into all of the good times. I miss my childhood, but like all good things, they can't last forever.

this video brought back some memories I completely forgot about and man... I did not expect to tear up watching this. being one of those Minecraft kids in 2012 and now gearing up for college is strange ngl I feel old

I read that Ecclesiastes verse at my wife's mother's funeral. If I wasn't crying before that point in the video, the wave of emotion hit me like a truck when that last credit hit the screen, so yeah, I definitely cried. Before that funeral... it was all as simple as Minecraft. I had a girlfriend who liked me a lot, school was a breeze and I had no plans but to relax in the future. But that was taken away from me. Some of it was taken away for the better. My girlfriend became my wife, connected over shared trauma, we're almost inseparable. But the worst... my future is constantly tipping this way and that as time fades away for me to experience everything I ever wanted to. There was so much time to keep exploring caves, finding new dyes to brighten up the place, create rollercoasters and protect villages. But now it isn't breezy. It's hard work to find the time for anything and when you do, playing Minecraft, doing anything for yourself, seems like a waste of time. I've only now scheduled in a two times during the week, three hour slots where on my calendar its marked busy, but that's when my wife and I sit down and play a board game, Minecraft like we did during covid as teenagers, read together or watch something together. And making rest a priority... making simplicity a necessity in such a busy world... makes life more like Minecraft when we were kids...

truly a pain. we let 14yo stans let a billboard become just another stupid ad rather than a funny message. this says a lot about our society irl in real life. jokes aside, i really wish he would make passion projects like this video more often man. and he's even stopped weeklyslap. this video is one of the only things in the world that genuinely makes me cry, and im not even an emotional person. i came back after that tweet of his about how he would gladly forget how to play minecraft just to get back the experience, and this video _still_ managed to make me cry.

@@alicerivers2363 he explained why he stopped weeklyslap. i can only imagine how hard it is to be a huge youtuber, where your favorite hobby has turned into your job and everyone who watches you wants to be personal friends with you. the stress that being a famous influencer has can really put a horrible shade on life. im not saying a youtuber is a bad job, and a dream no one should chase, but i can definitely understand why jschlatt isnt doing much anymore.

'Eat Shit' is actually a reference to Ross Hornby, a member of Hat Films that said it in a video many moons ago.

I always come back to this video bro. I wish I still had my old world, but I’ll never forget being a kid and the feelings associated with the game. I’m 23 going on 24 next year but Minecraft will also hold a place in my heart as well
