Alhamulillah, with the blessings of Allah SWT, we are going to talk about a very humble, kind, soft spoken person, who is not only a great Islamic scholar, but also a powerhouse in tasawuf. His name is SHAHZADA E GHAUS UL WARA AL-SHEIKH AL-SAYYID HASHIM ABDUL QADIR Mansooruddin AL-GAILANI AL-BAGHDADI.
Hazrat Shaykh Hashim Al-Gailani was born on 14th of December in the year 1973. He belongs to a great linage. He is the 18th direct descendant of Qutb-e-Rabbani, Mehboob e subhani, Shahbaaz la Maqani, Ghous e Azzam Hazrat Sayyadina Shaykh Abdul Qadir al Gilani r.a. and he is the 28th descendant of our most beloved imam-ul-ambiya Hazrat Sayyadina Muhammed SAW.
His father, Shaykh Syed Abdul Qadir Masooruddin Al-Gailani, was a great scholar and a sufi master. His great grandfather, Syed Abdul Rahman Al-Naqeeb ul-Ashraf, was the 1st prime minister of Iraq from year 1920 to year 1922.
Hazrat Skaykh Hashim’s childhood and youth was in a section of Baghdad called Babul-Shaikh. He received his education in a very well trained and educated environment. After studying Nazra and memorizing the Holy Quran, he got his religious education from scholars in Madarasa Qadriya. He holds a certife as an Islamic Scholar by Al Shaykh Abdul Karim Al Mudarris - with the credentials of Al Ijazzah Al Elmiyah, which is the most important and high certificate for any Islamic Scholar and a teacher.
Hazrat Shaykh Hashim is currently the custodian of the maqam of Hazrat Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al-Gaylani R.A., and he is the most highest-ranking Shaykh of tariqa Al-Qadriyah. He also supervises the urs shareef, which is held every year on the 11,12 and 13th Rabi' al-Thani at the at The Holy Shrine of Hazrat Shaykh Abdul Qadir al Gilani r.a. Lovers of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Al-Gaylani RA come there from all over the world to take part in this urs shareef.
Hazrat Shaykh Hashim has toured various countries and participated in many conferences on Tasawwuf held specially in Asia and Europe. He also has made numerus speeches and addresses which include unbelievably valuable and spiritual information which is loved by people all around the world. Many non-Muslims have converted to Islam just by listening to them. He has fully dedicated his live and is working day and night to spread the true knowledge of isam and tariqa qadriya all over the world.
Allah Blessed Hazrat Shaykh Hashim with four children. Two sons and two daughters. His elder son’s name is Sahibzada Syed Muhammad Gilani Al Baghdadi and the youngest son’s name is Sahibzada Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani Al Baghdadi.
