Lydia I think it's safe to say that at this rate you'll be able to look back at your life one day and be satisfied that you had a life well lived. Having and staying true to your own beliefs and opinions, living above the fray, avoiding the pressure of trends and staying true to you, building the life that YOU want one brick at a time. You have no idea what a blessing it is being able to live that way in the current culture. Kudos to you and all the best.

it always cracks me up when people in the comments spell Berkeley out as Barkley...that dog's damn name is Berkeley but Lydia's desperately wannabe-posh accent makes it sound like Baaaaah-kley and people get fooled. hilarious indeed...thank God he actually barks so it kind of makes sense, in a way 😄

The look on your face when the man told you that you were sitting in the same seats as Harry, William and Kate, the way your eyes lit up, I swear It is the same face when I surprised my five-year-old niece with her favorite spiderman cake on her birthday!!! Love sprouts. We eat them all the time. Key is not to over cook or they taste bitter. We boil, drain, chop, pop back in hot pan with loads of butter, Malden salt flakes, ground pepper and stir rigorously to break them up. Leftovers go on top of mash and for a nice crunchy topping with a bit of melted cheddar. So nice. 🌱

Lydia, your so right about H & M, nobody really knows what happened for sure, I watched the series as well and what stood out above all else was H and him not wanting M to go thru what his mom went thru and for his children to have a different life than he did… to be free to just be kids without the flashing lights of cameras,etc. it’s amazing how being a husband & father caused him to flee in order to protect his family. To give them an assemblance of a “normal” life. Nobody will really know what all they’ve been thru, or the whole truth, but I think it’s quite honorable that they want to give their kids the best life possible, even if that be apart from the royal family!!!

As an avid watcher, THANK YOU for being brave and bold enough to speak out about your feelings and / or support for M&H. I adore them as a couple and their story, good or bad, deserve to be heard. We have not lived their lives and been through what they have been through, so we need to be open-minded. The Royals are not perfect by any means and we all talk about our families, just not on this level. I am so happy for them both. They seem happier now. Love seeing the animals as usual. Keep being you, Lydia. 🧡

What a FABULOUS trip on the Belmond!! I love that you spoke about Meghan and Harry. I am an American so don’t have an emotional investment toward the Royal Family but from what i have seen it is the media that is terrible and holding ALL the Royals hostage. I also agree i didn’t hear ANYTHING negative about their family, it is again the media creating the “drama”. Even watching the fictionalized Crown my thoughts are let these poor people just live their lives! At then end of the day it just seems that change is hard but let it come. The royals are just people, revered and representing British identity but they can do AND be real people. Just my humble opinion but i agree with you Lydia. Happy Christmas!!

We did the Pullman a few years ago (pre-covid) and adored it - will definitely do again - great day out. Love some of the goodies Daylesford do - and had our box of Christmas goodies delivered on Monday (mini mince pies, nuts, cheese, Prosecco, crackers, bone broth, pickles, two candles and some handwash - it was like Christmas had come early 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

I love sprouts! But u have to add salt, butter and lots of garlics and squash them slightly so they crisp up! Or make like a sprout stir fry with onions, garlic, ginger, turmeric and add some chopped potatoes… yum! U can eat those with Indian flat bread and yoghurt and mint. ❤

DOG JUMPER TRICK: 1. call ‘jumpers’. 2. Put hand into head hole thru to back. 3. Put treat in hand. 4. Dog dives thru for treat. 5. Pull jumper on. 6. Fit legs whilst dog eats treat!! Who hoo. Works every time and no more chasing dogs round the house before winter walkies. 🥰🎄🥰

While many found the dogs sniffing, eating, licking of the food hamper to be entertaining/laughable, considering that these are gifts for others, I found it a bit off-putting. Dog owners may not mind this but others may. They (the dogs) don't seem to listen...... The train ride was absolutely lovely to watch.

Ali is such a good guy. I appreciate the fact that he can cook. My husband does not cook, so it is all on me every day. I require a night or two off every week, we must go out for dinner or enjoy "Take Out". My husband likes Brussel Sprouts. I can take them or leave them. But lately the restaurants around here have been roasting them, which I love. It seems to make them sweeter, than just a pan sauté or steamed. I loved the Pullman trip, such luxury. Funny, I was just listening to our National Public Radio today telling the history of George Pullman and the black men who worked on the trains in America. It was very interesting. I am glad you don't take sides with Megan and Harry. I don't know them either, but I think they have a right to live their own life as far away from the public and the paparazzi as possible. I wish them the best, as I would any couple.

I love brussel sprouts! Roast them in the oven, cut in half with sea salt and cracked pepper with olive oil. I like them a little "over roasted" so theyre a little darker in areas and crispy. They're amazing with a little gorgonzola cheese sprinkled on them when they come out of the oven.

Your trip on the Belmond Pullman looked wonderful. As for Brussels sprouts..I always roast them with cauliflower and broccoli in olive oil with a bit of salt & pepper...delicious 😍

Try coating the Brussels sprouts in olive oil, salt & pepper, then roasting them in the oven. Then if you really want to amp it up cut up some bacon, mix it among the Brussels sprouts & drizzle with balsamic vinegar before roasting 😋

Brussel sprouts w olive oil and honey drizzled on top in the oven at 200d celcius for 20 minutes or until a bit blackened... You'll eat them like lollies. I have them next day w brown rice, asparagus and pan fried salmon😍

I think the fact that you notice that people are so ferocious when you mention H&M lends credence to their argument they try to make in the doc. why do some people feel so angry about people they don’t even know? Perhaps it’s due to the narrative being put out there….very interesting. It’s your channel you should be able to share what you want without being yelled at because you don’t subscribe to someone else’s view about the royal family, who none of us know personally anyway. Very weird times. But great train ride! Adding to my list to do when I visit the UK

Me, sprouts are good for you. But once boiled fry them in butter garlic touch of oil then throw in pancetta then throw the sprouts in for a few minutes. Delicious. And it’s easy to do ! Takes the boring out of sprouts, you can swap the pancetta for danish Bacon. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥

I love SPROUTS! Brown some chopped bacon in a cast iron skillet, remove and drain on paper towel. Add fresh, sliced, sprouts and diced onion to pan with about two tablespoons of the bacon drippings and sautee until caramelized. Salt and pepper to taste as you cook. Serve with bacon on top. If you don't like bacon, omit and replace drippings with olive oil and Butler. It's delicious

The Pullman 😍 the hampers are so lovely, I love F & M baskets too. By the way I’m a lover of Brussel Sprouts, I could eat a whole plateful, although you wouldn’t want to sit next to me 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Regarding the people you mentioned earlier in the video that you watched the documentary about, someone else told me something interesting. The media have the final say about everyone and everything that we think, and here the people you mentioned are actually telling *their* side of the story, which is really fascinating to see and hear! I'll hold back on discussion here too because I don't want ferocious comments either!

The fact that you are even scared to say nice things about them speaks volumes. I'm so glad they got their side out, CLEARLY they needed to. I think it opened many people's eyes

@@radhikapatel7005 I’m not sure if it really opened peoples eyes or not. I have watched the first three episodes and then watched a commentary on it from two Sky TV presenters from Australia. I couldn’t believe their closed opinions! And the comments section was still mostly against H and M. I couldn’t believe it. I actually also agree with everything that Lydia said about it. I won’t go on about it. 😂 but suffice to say, it’s interesting how so many people don’t seem to have an open mind. 😅

You have to true grilled sprouts with EVOO, walnuts, and dried cranberries all sautéed on the stove. Absolutely amazing, with a drizzle of balsamic 😍
