She wasn’t let out. She served her sentence that the judge imposed. She was arrested in 2001. She was given 25 years. She made a deal for the 25 years. She did 22. Everyone has an opportunity to earn some time off. So, she’s entitled to get out, just like everyone who serves their time. If she doesn’t follow the rules of her supervised release, she’ll likely have to do some of it inside again.

While Ana Montes gained her freedom she has lost so much more as she is a pariah in the U.S. at the age of 65 with no income to support herself as the “Hiss Act” stripped her of her Federal retirement as she was convicted of espionage along with other criminal counts. At this point in Ana’s life Cuba has no use for her and without any income she would suffer the plight of Cuban citizens so her only play is to move to Puerto Rico where she has relatives that can help

As an American I’m morally outraged too at America’s foreign policies in South and Central American countries. We Americans have a lot of big talk about democracy, but let a South or Central American country’s people, against all US election interference, elect a president who’s loyal to his people instead of being a puppet for the US and the US immediately starts operations to oust a democratically elected president by funding guerrilla armies and staging coups and if that doesn’t work the US slaps them with Embargoes. If the US didn’t interfere in South/Central American countries so much we wouldn’t have the crisis at the US Border that we do now. It’s our own fault, our own greed. Our corporate overlords won’t allow any of them countries to nationalize their natural resources, benefiting the country and it’s people. They need it privatized as to only benefit private corporations, like the big oil companies and such, NOT the people. That’s what it’s all about.

Well if one looks at the people they hire in these bureaus you would see that they are not actually going to be loyal you know. I'm at a guy one time he's an elderly man and he said he worked for one of the bureaus and one day he was caught and the bureau pretended they didn't know who he was and he was in jail for a long time and another country he feels like he was betrayed by the country. I don't know how these operations actually work but I feel the equally terrible to abandon your people the ones that actually work on our loyal to this country.

United States on the other hand, they fund and support dictators around the world. The United States has supported some of the world's worst terrorist and dictators ever known. Do a web search for friendly dictators. Educate yourself. And then, while you're at it, check out the National Security archive and see what kind of documents have been Declassified over the last 40 years. 😀 oh, and just for your own personal edification, do you know what the literacy rate is in cuba? 100%! Guess what it is in the United States? Over 54% of Americans can't even read or write. Over 25% have a mental illness. This is utterly ridiculous propaganda. As she said in her trial, the calling of being a human was higher than the calling of being an American, and she would do what she could to protect the Cubans from American depredations, which since 1957 have taken the lives of so many babies. For sixteen years she patiently stuck to her guns. If ten percent of us had half her courage, we would be a different nation today.

Iconoclast who didn't value her fellow citizens lives and thought the Castro regime was morally superior. She got a very short sentence considering she took payment for her revelations though her motive was largely ideological. Mice will play when the cats away but when they walk the cat backward the cover-up is revealed. Ego also played a role thinking she'd never be caught. Hiding her real intentions and actions even to family members showed this was beyond some cognitive dissonance and actions imperiling their lives with her supercilious sense of moral superiority. Castro often played a similar game hiding motives then murdering opponents till he sunk the island into a nuclear blackmail state, a terror organizer of radical revolutionaries - see Clair sterling s the terror network., and finally a failed economic banana republic despite its sugar cane, and tobacco wealth . Acting as a narcotics transfer hub for haters of America. The 5 years supervised release is probably too short and she'll probably after it's expiration end up in Sweden with her recruiter handler now immune from extradition by Swedish law or perhaps with Putin another Marxist leninist puppeteer.
