I am so thrilled this is uploaded as I was trying to research this stone. I wish I'd stopped by the exhibit while I was in Arizona. And I just have to say this... this wonderful, knowledgable lecturer reminds me of my fav actress, the beautiful Meryl Streep. I feel like I'm learning about the history of this gorgeous stone from a famous super star! Great post Phoenix Art Museum! It's too bad the camera person wasn't able to move with her, but I know that in time that will all work itself out. I still loved the information and I could imagine what she was showing :)

I wish there was better camera, sound, and editing work on this video. Instead of staring at robe and empty podium, you could have inserted photos of all the items she was describing and pointing out from your collection. This recording would be better as a podcast than a video, since there are no pertinent visuals included to go with the lecture.

The use of ceremonial jadeite celts in britain 100,000 years ago prove that there was a universal jade cult in ancient times, the chinese used nephrite later in their neolithic history and later rediscovered jadeite too. Both stones form into kidny shaped river stones and have almost all the same qualities
