What does kaizo mean? I've watched a bunch of his videos and never known.

@@illigerboy4915 Kaizo is a Japanese word that implies something has been reorganized or rearranged in some way. In the gaming sense, it refers to rom hacks that are infamous for being difficult for the sake of being difficult, and for Mario games in particular that is often achieved by placing invisible blocks in awkward places that frequently result in the player's death. Thus the term, "kaizo block". Note that Kaizo has become synonymous with increased difficulty, and a "Kaizo level" typically implies that it is intended to be difficult or to require a certain level of game knowledge. TL;DR either a cheap and lame block that kills you for the creator's own sick fun, or a hard level, depending on context.

I thought I would take today's comment to catch anyone up on the legend of Spiny Control. Half an episode was dedicated to playing it, only for... spoiler alert... for Dave to leave it uncleared. I dedicate my KZfaq comments to pursuit of DGR believing in himself and going back to clear this level once and for all! The P-Kar level is pretty sick. i love the ROM-hack kaizo levels.

My personal viewpoint is that if a creator puts in even one kaizo block that kills the player, it's boo-worthy. You had already hit one before leaving the boo, and then hit at least 3 more later. Even if the level was designed well, all the unnecessary and impossible to predict kaizo blocks (considering the fact that it's a level where you have to keep moving fast, so you don't have time to check for them every time) would make it an instant boo for me. But again, just my viewpoint.

I think Panga has changed me because the hidden blocks alone in that p switch level more than justify the boo, that’s a double boo. Dave is just too nice for the boos though

Same....and it looks like he is giving up on even more levels (which is fair) but also confuses me. Any "troll" lvl he plays I instantly don't watch because those aren't fun....then when actual fun lvls come he has given up because its "live" I don't understand.

Yeah, he covers up level codes too (this is for the stream viewers so that DGR can still get the first clear) and I might want to play those levels. I miss when this series wasn't stream highlights...

Switching your Boo to a Like would be a nice feature that should already be a thing, but I imagine they did not want to put in the effort of taking away whatever effect the two have.

Makes me irritated that people who attend your streams try to beat you to the uncleared level. I don’t get it, it means they aren’t watching you anymore, so they literally come in just to snipe the level code. Do they think it’s funny? Trolls have gotta troll, I guess.

Actually, it makes for good content for the creator. It adds a level of suspense: "After all this struggle, will he still succeed to score that first clear?" That said, I seldom watch any streamer on Twitch because I find it kind of boring (I watch them on YT at 2x speed), so I might not understand the codes of the game streaming community.

Dave, you need to go back and star one of their other levels to offset your preemptive "Boo". I was gonna say 2 levels but then you encountered kaizo blocks. One is enough.
