HIYA THERE! Another rambly video that ends with a sketchbook flipthrough this week... Honestly, I go on and on in this video about stuff that has been on my mind. Please comment if anything resonates, as I've been feeling super queasy these days about putting myself out there (to what end? Am I a valid artist?). Anyhoo :)

I relate to so much you talked about in this video. I’m also neurodivergent and have arguably too many interests. I originally went to school for psychology. Now I’ve decided to go back for conservation biology. I plan on picking back up on art again. I haven’t really consistently done anything in years. I love watching other artists to get inspired, see what the art process looks like for them, and to feel a sense of community.

ohhh welcome here! this hits home so much. I hope you find a safe space here to explore along with me, without any pressure to perform or stick to it. I love having many interests, I think it's a beautiful quality to be interested in a lot of things, and also it's just not quite compatible with capitalism 🥲

Lovely and interesting video. Your sketchbook video where you discovered a new bird came up on my feed and as soon as I started watching the video I found it quite relaxing and also inspiring - this video also. I follow a couple of other French artists on youtube, but also many others including Sophie McPike and I recently watch a Megan Wang video the other day. I am so inspired by other artists but am not able to find the time to do any of my arts and crafts hobbies myself and I'm finding it extremely depressing. I like your style of videos and yes I like sketchbook tours, chatty art vlogs about what people are doing. Would like to see what other hobbies you do too. And I also love your cardigan! Thank you so much Katie!! I relate a lot to you saying that you watch videos but can't find the time to do your art and craft hobbies... Lately I have been trying to get back into it while watching other people do it, even for five minutes! And it's worked for me. Five minutes at a time first! But of course I know we're all different, I really hope you get to find the time to do what you love and soothe your soul a bit 💕 Sending you lots of love and I'm so grateful you subscribed and took the time to write such a meaningful comment 🥰

it’s so funny when you show a page and i think i absolutely love it and then you say you hate it haha i’m in love with your drawing style! i’d like to see maybe some more real time sketching once in a while 🥰

Ahaha. Sometimes when I say I hate a page, what I really mean is not that it's not beautiful, it's more that it doesn't feel like me. But it's so funny you would say that indeed! I need to buy myself a device to hold my phone so that filming real-time sketching will be easier! It's on my top list for things to buy as soon as my pay comes :D

@@arianearghyris Ahh! But that’s the thing about art styles: you may not see it yourself, while for others it’s clear. Which is why I think artists should quit trying to “find their style”. Just keep on making and let your style evolve!
