Hi, just wanted to let you know that the copyright issue was actually over the brand name: “Hoa Hau Hoàn Vũ Việt Nam” (Miss Universe Vietnam translated) the New company had the right to call themselves MUVN, but tried to call themselves HHHVN which is the name that Unicrop and Unimedia coined and have built a successful brand of. (Also she built her brand when she returned to Việt Nam, not in Germany)

Hi Luis I am very sad too and in behalf of my Vietnamese boyfriend this had to happen to their candidate despite of us not supporting Miss Universe to El Salvador or wherever it may be. Me and my dear boyfriend ❤ is not in favor of all the changes, it is just too much for our sanity🤔☹

That's sad because she would have done amazing, I was a fan of hers many years before she even competed in Miss Universe Vietnam, but i hope someone tells her to join one of the other big6 pageants if she indeed can't go to Miss Universe anymore.

MISS UNIVERSE IS A VERY UNGRATEFUL ORGANISATION EVEN DURING THE IMG ERA, REMEMBER WHAT THEY DID WITH BININIBINING PILIPINAS, SENORITA COLOMBIA, MISS UNIVERSE THAILAND, THEY WERE REPLACED BY ANOTHER NATIONAL ORGANISATION CONSIDERING THEY ARE PERFORMING EXCELLENTLY, IN FACT CATRIONA GRAY JUST WON MISS UNIVERSE THAT YEAR. Thank you Luis for a video with such great content. It's unfortunate that Thao Nhi Le is a victim of such circumstances and my heart goes out to her, but from a business perspective, Anne's harsh decisions make sense. Franchise holders have been allowed to change the rules for their own benefit and now with the new ownership of Miss Universe enforcing certain rules, they look like the bad guy. If you look back at the history of the Miss Universe Organization, 1st runner-ups were never allowed to represent their country in the following year, unless under special circumstances.

I agree David! I don’t think Anne is to blame for this one in particular. This is between the two national organizations and ultimately they couldn’t find an agreement which is understandable. I hope that Thao Nhi Le will be ever to compete in other pageants or maybe even join MUVN again

@@LuisPortelles Luis, I’ve been following the Miss Universe pageant for 40+ years and the only time I’m aware runners-up were allowed to compete at Miss Universe in the following year was during COVID-19. I only recently discovered that Miss Universe Vietnam held a pageant every other year; obviously an exception made for them by the Organization. Seems like people are looking for excuses to bash aunt Anne. I think we need to give Anne a chance to prove herself. Mind you, I don’t agree with how she has been stealing the spotlight from the reigning Miss Universe, but that’s a different subject for another day. 😂 Let’s hope she has listened to the fan complaints and tuned it down a little. 😂😂😂

@@davidmartinborough8642 Nhi Le is overaged according to the current rules of the pageant since she turned 28 by the time the 2023 pageant will be held under new management. Nhi Le could had been eligible for 2023 with the previous franchise holder because she was still 27 by the time of the appointment.

Transformational change is at its best when it is administered with the greater good of EVERYONE in mind. This absolute change in MU franchising victimizes some countries and their candidates. That’s not good transformation for MUO. I just wonder what kind of changes in the org compelled Esther Swan to give notice of leave abruptly? Now the incoming Miss Vietnam can no longer compete; how heartbreaking for her and her supporters. I think the new MUO owners need to inject sensitivity into the way they operate. What bad news will Luis deliver next?

Well since Miss Universe Vietnam is going to have a new national pageant, and since Le Thao Nhi finished as the Runner Up last year, she could try again (if she is allowed to), and win Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 as the winner

I think it’s just fair she was a runners up and this is a new management in the Philippines we don’t allow runners up to join unless something happened to the title holder so they must follow the new rules 😊❤🙏

Vietnam has their own way of choosing their candidates and now these crowned winners, that were appointed, are now being stripped off of what they were promised because the Miss Universe org doesnt want runner ups to represent and wants them to redo the pageant. So? They may have problems now but that is the one for their admins to solve. Miss Universe is still Miss Universe and it still has great history. It was already established even when Vietnam was still so agricultural and just full of rice and paddies..
