Since the video, I've noticed the solo dev changed some menus, added more features for the garage, a new drift mode and even reduced the price! He definitely didn't expect there to be a video, but as someone getting into gamedev I thought this was pretty fun to see!

He’s creating the Netflix show known as “Hyperdrive” in video gaming form! I’m Hyped! Hopefully, by the time I can purchase and build my rig, I’ll be able to play this game! I hope he completes this game, the quality of this game almost looks like it should be A-rated! 👍 I really liked that show. Wish there were more seasons.

Just hope that the developer fixes the props and make them more easily destructible, less destructive to your car. How in the world were those prop markers making the car flip as if Theo was riding over a beam-shrunken mountain? Besides the physics, that definitely needs to be fixed. And the Reset bug at the end of the video. To think, he’s solo-making this into a game is still crazy!

To be fair, he listened more than 95% of game developers these days. He dropped the price from £11 to £5, if the game gets multiplayer and other features, some replayability, it’s definitely worth that

Seeing the gameplay one major improvement comes to mind; If I understand correct you need to hit the boxes (for bonus points?). Some simple things the dev can do as improvements: 1. make the boxes green (red is generally understood as "bad", so making them green helps emphasize they are good for you (give points). 2. Adjust the physics of the boxes. now the car bounces over them, interrupting the flow, which is another deterrent to hit them. 3. Adjust the box hit sound to a "ding"-sound. Slightly higher in tone to the objective sound to distinguish it. The sound it makes now is a bit heavy and therefore negative in tone. Higher "ding" style sounds are generally more happy and can give dopamine hits. (like the "ding"-sounds of powerwash simulator for example) X. As an extra; bring the neon theme to the boxes as well, ad a green neon element. And this is just one element of the game that can be improved with some minor tweaks. I have high hopes for this game, hope the dev reads this.

If you guys are going to create racing games, keep in mind that illegal street racing genre is dying. Today we have a lot of festivals and drift games. Where are the gritty games with police and tuners??

Not really, there are still a lot of players who loves illegal street racing genre. and for me, festival and drift general is way too exaggerate and no purpose of being that thing from the first place

Oh sick, it's a game based on the (abandoned netflix) series hyperdrive. Though I think if you're making something so precision driving course, having a kind of jerky handling like this goes against the experience. Might need some polishing and some other courses to help train the players up.

Would love for this game to do what Drift Streets Japan did where it was improved and added stuff that the community recommended and that's what really made it stand out and make people fall in love with it

What would be the best approach. Creating more closed circuit races or expand beyond the warehouse into a open world street racing game?

For now, I say create more closed circuit tracks! Focus on the handling and physics of the game and get it to where you and others are happy with it. Develop the core mechanics of the game, and then I would say you could look into expanding on and focusing on world design and opening the game up. I say this mainly because I think it would be beneficial to you because sure, you could have a really sick open world but if the actual gameplay and feel of the cars arent up to par, then it could hurt the exploration experience. But keep going man! I think what you have here looks really sick so far and I look forward to seeing what you do with it in the future.

im not a game developer or know any programming skill of any nature, noted that 1 person made this game or demo? is pretty amazing! first impression just like you mentioned in the video, the presentation aka how it looks is amazing. though i genuinely think the handling and camera movement (when taking turns) deserve some love to say the least. the shadows could use a little work in and around the car model. tutorial wise i can understand how some may not get it straight away. another pointer would be the instant acceleration and stopping of the car, there is no weight calculation aka no actual car.. geometry? mind you i don't know the terms.. you can roast me for it if you'd like lol

I can see a solid foundation for a good indie experience. If it’s like 10€, if I have fun for 5 or 10 hours that’s still more fun value than a movie ticket. It’s obviously not there yet, but it might make it.
